Bone-weary
Continuing to move here and hoping we'll be done -one- of these days. Actually we're getting pretty close to being through. Everything is pretty much packed up at the townhouse now and all the furniture has been brought here to the apartment. All we have left is several loads of boxes and bags, a day of cleaning and we should be finished.
Unfortunately, the van was making an ominous grinding sound today that John thinks may be the results of problems with either the coolant system or a brake pad. He's taking the van in to his mechanic early tomorrow morning and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the problem is simple, inexpensive and easy to fix. We need the van back almost immediately to finish the move.
At this end things are starting to shape up. We've been arranging furniture and it looks like what we have is going to fit. We've made early runs to Walmart, Zellers and Ikea and we've bought curtains, a lamp and new lampshades. We're working on a storage system to pack things away in the spare bedroom/office, probably a series of stackable bins. We're trying to find a new cover for the futon on the couch (since it's in the living room now).
And, hey, I bought a new washer/dryer today at Sears. My very own washer/dryer- cool. It will be delivered next Wednesday.
I am tired. I am beyond tired. I'm starting to feel this move in every muscle of my body. Sorted and packed the entire townhouse kitchen Wednesday night. Packed my whole home office/library yesterday. Finished packing all the boxes in the garage today. Brought over the last of the bags of laundry last night. Once the van is back in action it should only take us 3-4 loads to get everything else out of the house and over here. It can't happen too soon.
John is the hero of this move. I've done the bulk of the packing, but he's done the bulk of the moving. He's beyond bone-weary, too. But both of us are really happy with our new apartment and our new start, so it will all be worth it.
Exercise log- Still trying to fit in my walking whenever I have time and energy. I'm down to 295 minutes on the Idita-walk challenge and still 9 days to get it done. If I stick with 50 minute walks I should have the challenge finished by next weekend.
