Treadmill!

Yay, I got e-mail from Sears this morning telling me that my treadmill is ready to be picked up. We're going to go get it after school.

I've taken very much to heart the things people have told me about treadmill training, particularly the people who indicated that treadmilling can be boring. I'm still very aware that a lot of people lose interest in their treadmill and their good intentions very soon after the shiny new machine gets set up in their home. I want to try to prevent that from happening.

I am a TV buff, so I'm figuring TV is one thing that will be great at distracting me on a treadmill. Looking at my apartment set-up, though, I couldn't figure out a way to position the treadmill so I could see our TV. Hmmm... Then it hit me late last week that if I couldn't bring the treadmill to the TV we could bring the TV to the treadmill. So on Saturday we went to Zellers and bought a new TV stand with wheels. Now I'll be able to wheel the TV around 45 degrees from the wall and will be able to see it fine as I work out on the treadmill. Yay, I can treadmill while watching "Alias" tonight (if we have the treadmill put together by then).

I still don't know about the feasibility of reading on the treadmill, but being that I get several weekly and monthly magasines it seems a natural thing to try setting something up so I can read them as I treadmill. Some kind of music stand thingie attached to the front of the treadmill will hopefully work, we'll see. I've heard some people say they read while they treadmill and some people can't, so I'll have to experiment.

Figure music and language CDs should work great for treadmilling, too. I have several high energy mix CDs that I put together for outdoor walking that I figure should work just as well indoors, too. Should dust off the German CDs, too...

Yay, I just want to get home and go get my treadmill!
