Aurora Awards
Debbie, Jodi and I have just learned that Urban Tapestry has been nominated for an Aurora Award this year in the category of "Fan Achievement (Other)". The Aurora Awards are given out by the Canadian Science Fiction and Fantasy Association and they acknowledge achievement in Canadian sf and fantasy. There are seven professional categories (in writing, publication and art) and three fan categories. The "(Other)" category we are nominated in acknowledges fan achievement beyond publication and organizing of events (the other two fan categories). Karen Linsley and Lloyd Landa were also filkers nominated in this category in 2000.
The Aurora Awards are presented at a different Canadian science fiction convention each year and this year they are being held at Boreal, the sf convention in Montreal on the last weekend of October (same weekend UT will be at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival).
If there is anyone out there who nominated us for this award, thank you very much. We are honoured and grateful.
