The Daughter of Time...
... was a wonderfully fun and intriguing read. Thanks to all of you who recommended it to me in my mystery LJ posts. Not only did the book have an appealing structure and great characters, but I learned a great deal about British history that I didn't know before. Also loved the whole concept of "Tonypandy" that ran through the book, how the myths of history can actually become stronger and more cherished than historical facts. One of the best books I've read in awhile. Are Josephine Tey's other novels nearly as good?
Bought a copy of C.S. Lewis' "The Screwtape Letters" at Confluence, so it's next up to read, and
zencuppa was nice enough at Confluence to give me a copy of Ellis Peters' "A Morbid Taste For Bones", one of her mystery recommendations for me, so I'm looking forward to reading it, too.
Been steeping myself in bubblegum nostalgia tonight. A&E had a three hour block of biographies on The Osmond Family, David Cassidy and The Partridge Family. The ten-year-old I once was in 1970 will always love David Cassidy and The Partridge Family.
