The State of My World
Whee, I'm so glad this week is done. That appraisal has been hanging over my head since September, so it's nice to have it done. Still haven't gotten any results back, but the further I get away from it, the further I become convinced there couldn't have been any problem -too- serious :). It's taken me a few days to start to relax again, but I'm getting there.
Yay for Fridays. Yay, especially for Fridays with the school day over :). Sadly, it is raining and I hope it doesn't last because it is actually warm enough for the first time this year for John and me to consider a serious weekend hike, so my fingers are crossed the weather clears up soon. Sadly, too, there are no decent movies to go see tonight :-/. I may have to wait another week or three before the summer crop of films starts kicking in. I should look into setting up my "Harry Potter 3" movie field trip this weekend.
Truly enjoying having non-guilty time to read for fun again. I've eagerly moved into the world of Pern and, as folks reading here know, I'm leaving comments about my first read-through of "Dragonflight" here in my LJ. I'm enjoying the feedback from more-experienced Pern readers, too.
Starting Monday most of my creative focus moves full-time to "Annie". I've been slacking a bit due to more seriously academic appraisal type stuff, but it'll be time to start cracking the rehearsal whip next week. We only have seven weeks until we present and tons still to do.
Meeting with Debbie and Jodi on Monday for sushi. Oh my God, as Allison rediscovers a social life post-appraisal. So looking forward to that. Deb and I are going to drink saki. Jodi will be driving and probably won't drink saki, but hopefully we'll be entertaining saki drinkers and Jodi will be compensated that way :). John will be working part of this weekend burning DVDs of UT's "Gathering" Tolkien concert, so copies can go to Deb and Jodi's families.
I'm hoping to buy tickets for a musical sometime in the next week, too. I'd like to go see "Urinetown", being that it's gotten such good reviews and sounds rather edgy and different. I'm also hoping to get to the filk at Sally's place that Chris Malme will be at. Yay, hiking and theatre and filking and sushi- fun, fun.
Hooray for May.
