Redwoods

I'd also like to recommend reading artbeco's lovely post today on redwood trees and the Canadian perspective on them :). I think my parents might particularly enjoy it.

It is so true that we can learn to take our natural wonders for granted when we live among them. As I mentioned to Beck I think the Southern Ontario equivilent to redwood trees might be Niagara Falls. Ontarians get pretty blase about the Falls, but it is always a real lesson to spend the day at the Falls with someone seeing them for the first time.

QUESTION: Tell me about one natural wonder in your part of the world, big or small, that you would share with any friend or tourist who came to visit you.

One more recommendation for the day: shadowfax8 has spent the last few weeks posting gorgeous still collections from "The Return of The King" in her LJ journal. For any fan of the LOTR movies, waiting until the end of May to buy the ROTK DVD, they are a joy to look at. She's gotten up to the Grey Havens now, so take your hankies along.
