50 Book Challenge- Books #1-6
I figure each time I read a lot of five books for my "50 Book Challenge" LJ community, I'll post them here, too.
1. The Firm- John Grisham
2. X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills- Chris Claremont and Brent Eric Anderson (graphic novel)
3. Coraline- Neil Gaiman
4. Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister- Gregory Maguire
5. Starfarers- Vonda N. McIntyre
6. TV Land To Go- Tom Hill
Question:
Have you read any of these books? I'd be interested in your thoughts on them.
I was going to move directly on to "Dragonflight", inspired by the great feedback I got to my questions about Pern, but
tnatj suggested maybe I could write some more detailed posts about my first reading of the Pern books, rather like Debbie did for LOTR here:

and the idea rather intrigues me. I wouldn't write a response to every chapter like Deb did, but I notice the first Pern book divides up into four sections and I thought maybe I could respond to each section here in LJ. The thing is, though, that my teaching schedule is going to be particularly hectic for the next few weeks, so I'm thinking I may leave my reading and musings about the Pern universe until May so I can enjoy it more.
Instead, I think I'll move on to reading something completely different- "Master and Commander" by Patrick O'Brian. Loved the movie when I saw it last year and the book has been sitting on my shelf to read since November.
