Marching Onward
A catchall if you will
Naturally, February came and went along with a blizzard of epic proportions. This southern girl can’t take much more of the cold. The novelty of the snow wore off around week three of staring at brown snowy mush on every street corner. Here’s to a warmer and sunnier season ahead. Onward!
A photography update
If you’ve been around these parts since the start of the year, you’ll know I set out to shoot one roll of film each month. I hate to say that I did in fact fail to do so in February, but I will have some snaps to share once I finally finish that roll sometime this month.
I believe my downfall was being adventurous and trying an old black and white film stock I found in my apartment. I thought black and white would be a fun filter to see the winter snow through, and it was, but honestly I was in survival mode more than expected and didn’t spend much time taking photos.
Good news is that I swapped my old Fujifilm camera for a new one (thank you, Laura!) and have quite a few images to share from my first test shoots. (Also, see my color hunting adventure in Chinatown here.)
Springing forward
This month, I do feel as if I’m waking up a bit more in a creative sense. I have a fun maternity shoot planned for a friend, I’m trying out a few new restaurants, and I am determined to finally cross some Chelsea galleries off of my to do list. I also finished my first journal of the year. It feels so satisfying to have tangible evidence of creative output.
A few things that have been fueling my creativity include Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally, this floral photoshoot I can’t wait to give a try, following illustrators like Elsa on Instagram, Fishwife’s moodboards, and The Cut’s feature on Rama Duwaji, which I picked up at Iconic Magazines last time I was in Soho.

Write it down
As I crack open the spine of my next journal, here are some prompts I’m using to spark joy and interest this month. Please join me if you feel so led!
What are things you never tire of talking about? Why?
In a given week, where are you spending most of your time? What are you doing? How do you feel about it?
Write about all of the beds you’ve ever slept in — the beds that feel like home, those that felt like hell, ones you barely remember, and ones you’ll never forget. What memories float up?
This one is from The Book of Alchemy, a collection of 100+ journal prompts from author Suleika Jaouad and other artists, writers, and creatives. 10/10 would recommend.
What’s your perfect spring day?
Close your eyes, pick a color. Write it down. Spend today looking for it, and jot down what you notice.
Write about your favorite day of 2026 so far. Who was there? What were you doing?
You have an extra hour of daylight each day now — what’s one thing you want to do with it?
If you’ve made it this far, thank you. I leave you with my moodboard for the month of March. ‘Til next time.
