Reverend Dr. Bob Lively is an honorably retired Minister of the Presbyterian Church, USA. He is an award-winning short story writer and a former columnist for the Austin American-Statesman. He is a native Texan and a graduate of the Dallas public Schools. He is a graduate of Austin College and holds two degrees from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, where he also served as a regular visiting lecturer. For the past half century he served the church as a community activist, teacher, pastor, retreat leader, certified pastoral counselor, retreat leader, recovery center chaplain, college instructor, and counseling center director. He has been named a distinguished alum by both Austin College and Austin Seminary. He is married to Mary Lynn Rice-Lively, PhD., who is a retired University of Texas associate dean. They live on an acre in the Hill Country west of Austin where they enjoy regular visits from their daughter, Sarah Alice Lively hill and their grandson, Henry Hill.
