Born and raised in Singapore, which is your most cherished childhood memory?

My most cherished moments were spent with Grandpa Lee, Lee Yat Man. He thought me at a very young age the basics of how to be a good human being and show me how he ran his timber business, I still use a lot of his strategies when I run my company now.

What is a childhood ambition that you had? ​

I have always wanted to own my own business and be my own boss.

How does one know if their life story is worthy writing a memoir?

Everyone has a story and it is totally up to the individual to want to share part of his/her life with the world. Everyone has a choice to teach, inspire, and motivate someone else's life.

What is the simplest successful business idea you have ever heard?

The simplest successful idea is the create a business that solves the majority of people's problems, if you can solve someone else's problem you will have a lucrative business.

How much did you research while writing your first book "Five-Inch Heels - When Women Step Into Power and Success"?

Since the book was based on my story, the majority of my research was based on timelines of when my ancestors immigrated to South East Asia. I read a lot of leadership and motivational stuff all my life, and those materials helped me with my book.

What are the main things that you should know before starting to write a book?

Start with the Main Idea, determine who you are writing to, create an outline, start off with a strong chapter, and end with a memorable chapter so it leaves your reader inspired and content. Most importantly, write authentically cause any reader can pick up where it's not real. Facts are important and make sure you paint a picture as you write, you want your readers to see what you see.

What are the most important attributes of a successful mentor and protégé relationship?

Trust, Loyalty, Honesty, and Sincerity.

What is the best piece of advice you've ever been given as a writer?

Try to be a focused writer, sometimes you can feel empty of words and thoughts and if you do - take a few days off to get inspired, but come back to it quick before you move too far away from your main idea.

What is the biggest challenge of being a mentor/coach for numerous young professionals who are learning the corporate system?

Young professionals think that being a leader is quick and simple. Leadership is not a microwave proposition but a long and continuous process of learning and growing, with trials and errors. It takes experience to be a good leader.

How can empowering women develop a society?

By empowering women, it helps them feel that they are not alone and there are resources out there that could help them become a better version of themselves. Empowered women are also educated women who will contribute more to the economy by working hence global debts are reduced with more people earning an income because, at the end of the day, educated women are more employable than uneducated individuals.

What are some great business ideas that you wouldn't mind giving away for free?

If you are not online, you will soon be offline, and that goes with any business ideas. Make sure the business is trending with the world economy.

What is the most important thing you have learned about leadership?

Born leaders led naturally. A tip for all leaders out there, make sure you take your followers to the finish line and don't lead too fast or no one will be able to follow alongside you.

How has been your experience of being a part of multiple multi-million dollar acquisitions?

Being part of multimillion-dollar acquisitions is not an easy feat, it takes planning, mapping out the blueprint of the acquisition, merging human resources between the companies, and addressing cultural differences if there are any. My experience with acquisition can be highly stressful because there are people involved, however, things always work out at the end of the day.

Which is the next book you are writing? What is it about?

I am still deciding on my next book, if time permits, it will be another self-help book focusing on personal growth, being a leader at home and at work. Having leadership in life is pretty much a proven success in anything that you do.

When did you join AllAuthor? How has your experience been?

I joined AllAuthor recently (someone enrolled me) however I haven't had the chance to experience it fully due to my schedule, what I see with AllAuthor seems to have a nice community that connects authors around the world.
