This was a great small town romance story. The main characters are Esther and Curtis, who have been friends for years (Esther, divorced, helped Curtis after he lost his wife to Cancer). Their frienship begins to turn into something more as they both comes to terms with their feelings for each other. The book also deals with difficult family histories and forgiveness. It was a great story overall!

I bought this book in Canada when I was there for the summer and so enjoyed the depiction of the fictional Sunshine Bay, a faithful depiction of life on Vancouver Island. The characters have complex backstories and are relatable. It's refreshing to have a love story between more mature people who are healing from their various hurts and opening their hearts once again. The presence of Pearl the observant cat is a plus.

    “Reconciliation-the restoration of friendly relations.”

I liked the book. I don’t usually read books about 50 year olds, but I like how this author writes. I first read a novella from her and loved it so much. The characters were cute and I love this small town romance. It wasn’t very eventful though, and very predictable but I thought the story was like a hug and super cute. I would recommend if you are fine reading romance about 50 year olds. There were like three different characters falling in love so the ending was really sweet and special.

I loved how Esther’s cat, Pearl, symbolized Esther getting out of her shell and gaining trust from people.

Thank you BookSirens and the author for the arc. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a sweet, small town romance set in Sunshine Bay, Canada. Esther and Curtis have been friends for years, and she has been his support after the death of his wife. Esther's brother, Rick, has returned to town after decades, following his divorce. He has come to make amends with his younger son, and perhaps with his father as well.

There is no drama, no hysterics - this is a comfort type read about people we can all relate to and like, perfect for a rainy afternoon.

Thank you to BookSirens for the opportunity to read and review this novel.

Whisking Love and Building Dreams is book #4 in The Shops at Sunshine Bay series by Jeanine Lauren.

This was the second book I’ve read by Jeanine Lauren, and it was as good as the previous book. I like characters including Pearl, the cat. They are relatable. I was pulled into this heartwarming story and couldn’t put it down.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In this friends-to-lovers storyline, the clean romance was an easy read with a sweet storyline. This is just a feel-good book that lets you escape the real world for a few hours. A shorter book that makes the time go by quickly.
