How to Stand Up to Bullying Paperback – July 3, 2023
Purchase options and add-ons
Bullying. Something that is done every second, daily. Don't need a statistic to be told otherwise. Many don't even realize they are a constant victim of bullying, as it tends to get buried as an underlying emotion. Many don't realize they are actually a bully themselves. There are several references for parents to go to in order to help their children stand up against it, but there's not much for adults or depicting in why a bully is a bully in the first place. That's the first step. Before we all can stand up to bullying, we must first understand why a bully bullies to begin with.

- Reviewed in the United States on December 6, 2024Format: KindleVerified PurchaseHow to Stand Up to Bullying by M. C. Ryder is an educational resource that helped me understand bullies. I knew people were bullies because they were hurt, and needed to feel powerful, but the author gave us a little more than that. Saying No with firmness was key to stopping bullies. The author had hands-on experience with bullying. I see children and older people bullied, but I never knew how to help them. I like my new revelation of bullying. The author also says people from all walks of life bully and don't know they are bullying. It was interesting to hear all the diverse forms of bullying. I enjoyed reading the book, and the author's experience in some situations helped me understand how to handle narcissism, bias, workplace bullying, how to ignore certain conditions, and much more. I now know that bullying can be shutdown or stopped. I recommend this book and not just for children.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2023Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseAnother amazing book by M.C. Ryder. This book is heartfelt and truthful. It hits to the core of your soul. I loved this book it was absolutely exciting, and amazing, but so very true in today's world of bullies. It hit me in the heart in a few places. Some things were very hard to digest and grasp, but it is all so very true in our world of bullies today, and in days past. It surly made me think about the bullies that I still deal with every single day in the work place, in the stores, in restaurants, and even on the highway. Also, I could sense and feel the same pain by the author in her own words, and in this story. Again, this is another page turner, and not just for the young at heart, but for everyone out there! I have learned so much from reading this book. It sure is helping me to cope a bit better in today's world. JUST SAY NO!!!!!! A very easy word, but so hard to do lol. Since reading this book, I AM getting better at this process!

- Reviewed in the United States on December 5, 2024Format: KindleM.C. Ryder has written the all things to know about standing up for yourself when it comes to bullying. It is a heartfelt book that teaches why people become a bully and what you can really do to stand up to a bully. Ryder has a way of genuinely talking about a tough subject from a compassionate but firm viewpoint. Stand up to Bullying covers everything from standing up to your bully by saying, "no," to ignoring the bully, to finding kindness as a way to throw off your bully.
Opinion:
This book can be a great resource for preteens up through adults, especially those who are looking for a relatable and heartfelt informational text about what they can do to stop a bully. It offers strategies and tools for several settings including, school, home, and the workplace. Ryder is not a psychologist or counselor but writes with empathy and knowledge of these specialties. Worth the read and one that parents, teachers, and other adults should have on their shelves as a go-to resource.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2024Format: KindleThis book is by a good author. I've actually read this author's fiction and enjoyed it. The ideas are presented in a clear manner. But this book is basically just the author's observations and opinions. There was not enough scientific basis or expert opinion. At best, it might be inspirational for someone. I can't really recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2024Format: KindleI received the book as a gift from a very dear friend. It was a real eye opener for me and the book put things into perspectives that I had not really delved into before. I recommend this book for all ages. I have my daughter reading it now.
