    The Captain’s Crush by Freda Ann is an easy book to get you into this author’s style of writing. The characters are easily portrayed and identified. As the story begins you can imagine being a part of the town and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Jesse and Amelia are both unique characters that are determined to find love. Their jobs may be a conflict but they seem to work it out. I received an advanced copy and enjoyed reading and writing this review. You will not be disappointed if you want a quick read that holds your attention.

    You will enjoy this quick and easy read from Ms. Freda Ann. She does a great job with adding all kinds of swoon and small town charm. Love the setting in which this story takes place. It sounds like a wonderful place to visit or even live! Love Amelia and the leading man, Lewis, or is it Jesse???....there is some bits of intrigue/mystery in their relationship and the author does a great job with the chemistry of these two. Side charatcters like her daughter, Lilly, as well as Amelia's friends including Jenny, added some fun, humor and depth in the book.

    Without giving too much away in this delightful read, if you need a feel good with clean romance, no foul language with fun, flair, and great chemistry throughout the storyline, this novella is for you!

    Amelia and Jesse are brought together over and over again - by their kids, work and by chance. Clearly a sign.
    It’s not all smooth sailing though. She’s his boss, angst about his brother, and worries about betraying first loves…

    This story was a slow-burn, found family, later in life, second chance at love story and it was a sweet read. A shortish story, perfect for lunch breaks or short escapes.

    Can be read as a standalone. The first guy she fell in love with was on the beach one summer. Now she's back to start her new job with her daughter. When he first sees her he's confused about her behavior. What is her problem? Then he meets his new boss. Life just got more complicated. Mistaken Identity? Off limits relationship? Second chance?

    A charmingly sweet summer beach read. It was well written, interesting and has a brilliant mix of characters. I love that they are later in life characters and that it's a slow burn romance. This was part of a wonderful series you don't want to miss.
