About the author

Rebecca Benston is an author, publisher, and lifelong lover of compelling stories. She is the author of the mystery series The Rona Shively Stories, featuring a sharp-witted heroine navigating complex mysteries and the unexpected twists of small-town life.
In addition to mystery fiction, Rebecca has written children’s books, empowerment titles, and ministry resources designed to encourage personal growth and meaningful conversation in small groups. Her novel Bloom was published under the pseudonym Robin Stone. Much of her work centers on resilience, faith, and the belief that people are capable of far more than they often realize.
When she isn’t writing, Rebecca is usually working on projects that encourage others to become the best version of themselves. Through her publishing company, Higher Ground Books & Media, she has helped dozens of authors bring their stories to life and believes deeply that everyone has a story worth telling.
Rebecca is also an unapologetic audiobook junkie and an avid reader of thrillers, suspense, and mystery series. She enjoys the kind of storytelling that keeps readers turning pages late into the night—stories with sharp characters, unexpected twists, and women who refuse to be easily defeated. Among the fiction authors she enjoys are Dervla McTiernan, Freida McFadden, Suzanne Collins, Karin Slaughter, Lionel Shriver, Sue Grafton, Lisa Scottoline, Janet Evanovich, and Sarah Strohmeyer.
She is inspired by bold storytelling and strong female characters and hopes her own fiction reflects the same spirit—women who are feisty, fearless, and capable of handling whatever life throws their way.
Rebecca also enjoys inspirational and faith-based nonfiction and has long appreciated the work of writers such as Beth Moore, Elizabeth Gilbert, Lisa Nichols, Joyce Meyer, and Francis Chan.
She lives in Ohio, where she continues to write, publish, and champion stories that encourage healing, courage, and purpose. When she’s not working on books, she enjoys listening to audiobooks and spending time with her daughter and their ever-entertaining collection of pets.
