About the authors

Carmen has spent most of her life with ink on her fingers and a dangerously high pile of books and newspapers by her side.
She has worked as a newspaper reporter on two continents and always dreamt of becoming a novelist and screenwriter.
When she found herself crouched under her dining table, typing away on a novel between two earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand, she realised she was hooked for life.
The shaken but stirring novel made it to the longlist of the Mslexia competition, and her next book and first mystery, The Case Of The Missing Bride, was a finalist in the Malice Domestic competition in a year without a winner. Since then she has penned several more cozy mysteries, including the Jack and Frances series set in the 1930s.
Carmen now lives in Italy with her human and her four-legged family.

Aconite Cafe is a publishing company fueled by coffee.
Our Mission is to cure despondency via books.
Our journey began on a lazy Sunday over a cup of coffee. While discussing fantasy books, we joked about opening a coffee shop. That hypothetical business model of a coffeeshop/bookstore, turned into the dream fueled vision before you; where we read, write, and publish book, all while consuming copious amounts of coffee.
Our love of magical worlds and coffee has since grown into a thriving community of like minded fans.
Together Sabetha and Nicholi run an active Discord server where readers come together to discuss an array of books and life in general.

Jessica Thompson is the author of the Amazon best-selling mystery novels “A Caterer’s Guide to Holidays and Homicide” and “A Caterer’s Guide to Love and Murder" which was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Awards. She also curated and featured her own short stories in a family friendly anthology of campfire stories, "Beyond the Woods: A Supernatural Anthology." Active in her local writing community, she volunteers as the Assistant Communications Chair for the Storymakers Guild and as a Program Assistant for the Writer’s League of Texas.
Jessica lives in the suburbs of Austin, Texas with her husband and two children. When not writing, she’s getting her boots dirty at her parents' nearby longhorn cattle ranch. Whether ranching, cooking, or gardening, she sees it all as plot-inspiring material for her next mystery.

Where Small-Town Charm Meets Clever Mystery
Brook Peterson writes small town cozy mysteries with buried clues and clever sleuths. Her books include the Jericho Falls Cozy Mysteries, the Delft Valley Mysteries (with Sarah M Stephen), and The Cameo’s Secret, a mystery for middle-grade readers.
She’s also the co-host of Clued in Mystery, a podcast for fellow mystery lovers.
When she’s not writing or reading, Brook enjoys solving jigsaw puzzles, binging true crime podcasts, and perfecting her short game on the golf course where inspiration often strikes between swings.

Brittany E. Brinegar is the author of witty mysteries and whodunits. When you open one of her books, look out for rapid-fire banter and nostalgic pop culture references.
Her hobbies include time travel to the 1940s, solving mysteries, and training to be a super spy... vicariously through her characters of course.
She lives in Arlington, Texas with two canine writing companions/distractions and loves drawing inspiration from family, friends, and her home state.

When she’s not writing on her couch with her two cats, Twyla and Geo, Virginia is busy teaching middle school math, grocery shopping, cooking or spending time her husband and son. Together, her small family loves to go geocaching and visit theme parks.
Mysteries have always been an interesting challenge for Virginia, much like watching a magician perform. Unless you want to hear the entire thought process behind who she thinks is the killer and why, you might want to avoid watching any movies together.

Rune has been telling tall tales since the age of five. Ghost stories and other paranormal tales are her favorites, especially if they’re funny.
When she was a child, she had an invisible friend. Now that she’s gotten older, she collects weird characters and odd people, both in her books and in real life. She’s a veteran, a mom, and a grandma. She’s also trainable. As proof, the squirrels have trained her to refill the bird feeder on command, and the local strays often just move right in.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 23, 2023The Beachside Bungle-Oh! Jericho Falls Cozy Mysteries, my fifth short read from author Brook Peterson. With this series, Peterson is rapidly becoming one of my go-to authors! “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and in this series. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).:
Christmastide in Glasgow: Màiri's Home for the Holidays, my first enjoyable short (38-pages) read from author Kate Darroch that I finished in half an hour. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023My review is of “Dead Ringers and Light Fingers.” This is a fun short story about Marie and Bluey that takes place in 1931 in Adelaide, Australia. I enjoyed the glimpse of life during that period.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2023I love anthologies, since they’re good ways to find new authors. I’ve only gotten to read one story so far, but it was excellent: Dead Ringers and Light Fingers by Carmen Radtke. It’s a cute historical cozy with some humor; I loved the setting of Adelaide, Australia in 1931. There were plenty of phrases and words that were new to me—some were Australian and some were anachronisms of the time. It was very interesting how the author was able to convey a crime pattern, have the characters set up a sting and solve the mystery, all in a rather short story, but it was very entertaining and I’m eager to read the whole anthology. I was provided an arc, which I appreciate, but these opinions are my own.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023This book is a great way to get an introduction to authors you have never read before. Gives you a sample of how they write. While every story won’t be enjoyed by everyone, the overall idea is 5 Star for sure.
Carmen Radtke’s Dead Ringers and Light Fingers is definitely a 5-star read. A side story to her main series - A Jack and France Mystery - this quick standalone showcases Marie, a wonderful character from the main series. A fun story watching Marie solve a great mystery. A few other “Top Note” characters help along with the way too. Wonderful quick read. Nice summer diversion.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2024Format: KindleI'm liking it at any time of year. Such fun short mysteries!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2023So much fun to go on vacation with the sleuths and solve mysteries with them!
