Editorial Reviews

Review

"This book is full of wit, charm and humor. The dialogue is sharp and extremely well written and the engaging characters are colorful and quirky and you can't help but get caught up in their story. The historical aspect does not overwhelm the story or bog it down - this book is not stuffy or laden with awkward words and phrases - instead it is easy to read thanks to the author's smooth and clear writing style."

First, let me say - I didn’t set out to become a writer. I was too busy running — literally.

At fourteen, I was a competitive runner with my eyes on the finish line… until a friend (bless his clumsy soul) accidentally shattered my knee and my athletic dreams in one fell swoop. Overnight, I went from racing tracks to lying flat on my back, trapped beneath a fortress of blankets and a towering stack of Harlequin romances.

My dad took one look at those bodice-rippers scattered across my bed, said nothing, and disappeared — only to return moments later, drop a book onto my lap, and declare: “You need to broaden your reading horizons.” The book was Iceberg by Clive Cussler. And just like that, my fate was sealed. Dirk Pitt became my new hero. Adventure, mystery, danger — all danced off the page and straight into my imagination. While my knee healed, a new dream took shape: I wanted to whisk readers away on thrilling journeys of their own.

So here I am: a writer fueled by a twist of fate, a determined dad, and the legendary Clive Cussler. And while I may not be sprinting down tracks anymore, I’m still chasing stories — and loving every second of the race.

It means the world to have you here with me. May my stories spark your imagination as wildly as they've sparked mine.

A RomCom Full of Witty Banter and Unexpected Twists
As a fan of romantic comedies, I was thrilled to discover Fate's Intervention. The book tells the story of Marcelle, a woman who has given up on love and marriage after a series of disappointments. But fate has other plans in store for her, and she finds herself drawn into a hilarious and suspenseful adventure. One of my favorite parts of the book was Marcelle's clever and witty personality. She is a force to be reckoned with, and her interactions with the other characters are full of sharp banter and unexpected twists. I particularly enjoyed the scene where she sits on her hands to keep from skewering her caller with a knitting needle. It's a perfect example of the kind of playful and comical moments that make this book so enjoyable. The other characters in the book are just as engaging as Marcelle. From her quirky family to her amusing suitors, each character is well-developed and adds depth to the story. I also appreciated the historical setting, which is woven seamlessly into the plot without overwhelming it. Overall, Fate's Intervention is a well-written page-turner that will keep you laughing and guessing until the very end. It's full of clever dialogue, unexpected twists, and engaging characters. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a romantic comedy with a little bit of suspense thrown in.

Absolutely and most definitely not what I normally read - historical romance is not my thing at all - but as I was reading the "sample" I was immediately drawn into the story by the witty and amusing banter between the protagonist, Marcelle and her father, Peter over Marcelle's refusal to select a husband. Time is running out for her; she is 17 years old after all and almost over the hill in the eyes of most potential suitors. Too bad these guys are all old, wrinkly and portly and their overtures only make Marcelle more determined to think up inventive ways to turn them off her. That is until she meets horse trainer Matthew...

This book is full of wit, charm and humor. This book surprised me and I'm glad that I picked it up when I did (on a no charge day) otherwise I would not have given it any consideration at all (since it isn't my usual genre)and that would have been my loss for sure. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

I really liked this book. The method in which the H/h were brought together was a refreshing change from the norm. Probably the most appealing to me was the humor throughout the story. Marcelle's witty personality showed her strength but she wasn't overbearing and outrageously so.

The secondary characters were funny, annoying and downright silly at times but they added so much to the story. The author did a great job of showing their personalities and changes throughout the story.

The one downfall that I had a huge issue with was the fact it was supposedly set in Wyoming yet about two thirds of the way through it changed to Wisconsin. There were also numerous incorrectly used words. Normally, this is like a thorn in my side when I'm reading, but I overlooked it because the story was interesting and funny yet had romance and drama.
This is on my list to keep and read again.

Primarily the reason I'm so attached to this book is the way their family supports each other and has their backs. I think only a few writers these days demonstrate how important it is for the family to support one another. The characters are perfect! A funny, witty, sweet couple ever since at their younger age. Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys RomCom.

This comical romance features 17-year-old Marcelle, a spunky, smart-mouthed heroine whose father is attempting to marry off to older and wealthier men now that she's reached the ripe old age of seventeen. Enter Matthew, a broke but handsome horse trainer in a stable meet-cute. Several reviewers have called this book a romantic comedy, which is why I picked it up -- but personally, I'd be more likely to classify it as a historical romance with comedic elements.

I so seldom have time to sit down and read anymore, but I'm so glad that once I did I chose this one. It's not often a book will keep me up until the wee hours of the morning without realizing the time. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I often like the historical romances but they seldom engage me to the point that this one did. Heartwarming with that strong sense of family that so many stories today are missing. I highly recommend Fate's Intervention!

This book was great fun to read. The romance angle is not sappy, and the characters are interesting. A few minor flaws, but the story is so engaging that I would still recommend it.

I really enjoyed this classical romance set in the 19th century. Both characters, Matthew and Marcelle, are quite realistic and both have their flaws. Together, they make an interesting couple and add passion into this story.

As for the plot, I found it slow-paced and enjoyable, like most historical novels. The setting of old Wyoming and New York creates a unique atmosphere of that time.

I will definitely read more from this author!
