On The Edge of Time: The Aftermath: The human heart’s earnest search for heaven in the midst of Hell come to Earth. (Hidden Thrones Book 8) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars (461)

On the Edge of Time involves the human heart’s earnest search for heaven in the midst of Hell come to Earth. It is two weeks after millions of people have mysteriously disappeared from the face of the earth, and, like millions of others, Jerry Westfield, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, is upset and perplexed at that loss, particularly since it took his best friends, Jeremy and Kathy Palmer. His personal concerns must be set aside, however, when the international situation frantically signals the immanent destruction of the state of Israel. It is there that Jerry is sent to cover the story of his journalistic career and is reunited with Jacob Klausman, a ‘retired’ member of the ‘Mossad,’ Israel’s secret service. It is also there that he will meet with a cataclysmic series of monsters and miracles, including Ruth, the woman who will change his mind about marriage, and the charismatic Demetrius Strapollos, who soon is hailed as the ‘Messiah’ who will rescue Israel and restore her former glory. This quick-moving tale of suspense and power on a cosmic scale is intricately detailed and researched, providing the reader with insights into international politics, Biblical prophecy, the darkness of the human heart, and the challenge of faith in the face of disillusionment and pain. As current as this morning’s newspaper, this book will challenge the reader’s belief system, introduce him or her to the intricate world of international intrigue, and insure that the reader will never look at the Mid-East situation in quite the same light ever again.

I just reviewed the second volume and figured I should go back and write something about this one, too.

I really loved these two books. They are religious in nature, being about the "End TImes" and follow the scriptures pretty closely. I was pleased to see how a couple of others envision all of this happening.

I cared about what happened to the characters, too - not just how the events would come to pass...

I read Volume 2 immediately after I got done with this one, and thoroughly enjoyed it too. And, I would read more from these authors.

On the Edge of Time has proved to be a very enjoyable story. It is much like the Left Behind series, which worried me a bit to begin with...the main character is a reporter, as in Left Behind, and the style of writing is somewhat alike, with the jumping of scenes. But, going along with biblical base, there have to be similarities otherwise. Even so, the author came up with a different take and the focus was different. As the story went on, the similarities became less and less. There were very few editing problems and structure was well done. This book centers near totally on the mid East area and the US is not involved much in the book. The story flows well and keeps one reading. I am nearly done with part 2 and I recommend this to any who like end-time books, biblically based.

Incredible job! This fictional story covers the 7 years of life on Earth following the rapture. I have read a lot of books about this future Biblical event including the Left Behind series. In my opinion, the authors did an outstanding job of making the characters believable and the story come to life. There were no pat answers or passing over the trials predicted for mankind, and the struggles of everyone involved were believable. The only thing I personally believe they got wrong was that children of nonbelievers were left behind following the rapture, and that would contrary to Biblical teaching. But I could overlook that and still enjoy the story. Very well done!!!

Great read. Lots of biblical prophecy displayed in these pages. Provides a glimpse of how the 7 years before the return of Christ might be played our all over the world. Perilous times indeed.

Since getting my Kindle Fire HD in late 2012 I've downloaded and read at least three dozen or more novels based on the End-Times. As a relatively recent born-again Christian, a student of bible prophecy and a long time reader of suspense books this genre is something I naturally gravitated to . I was happy to see that the writers come from the pretrib dispensational view which in my extensive studies is the only one that makes logical sense. Quite a few writers in this genre are of a charismatic background and seem to favor a mid-tribulation/pre-wrath view which has significantly less scriptural backing.

I really enjoyed that the setting was predominantly Israel and that the main protagonist was Jewish. Also kudos on how the antichrist was written. He was truly frightening. Excellent book which deserves five stars for being one of the best I've read.
