A smart, standalone contemporary romance from New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Tara Sue Me

For Independent Anna Fitzpatrick, being President of the United States means she’s finally in a place to make a difference. Known for her intellect and charm, she never appears anything other than calm. After getting dumped by the man she’d been living with once he learned of her presidential bid, Anna vows to remain single throughout her term. It's an easy task, after all, no man has ever made her feel the way her law school classmate did years ago. Or at least the way he made her feel until he walked away without so much as a goodbye.

Navin Hazar is content being one of the nation’s top news anchors. It may not be the plan he had for his life, but plans don’t always go as anticipated. Like his plan for no one to find out he knows Anna personally or did know her, once upon a time.

For over ten years, they’ve been able to ignore each other, but her election to the highest office changes everything. And when Navin inadvertently lands on Anna’s Press Pool, they realize the only thing more aggravating than politics is love.

Review

Madame President is a Washington, DC romance about a single woman, Anna Fitzpatrick, who tries to honor both her vows to serve her country and her determination to remain single through that political process. It's not the first book to posit a female president, but it is the first to link a single president's love life with the office she's determined to protect. This creates an intriguing turn of events as Anna discovers her heart and political mission in life may not be aligned.

When successful news anchor and former flame Navin Hazar enters her world on professional level, neither anticipated that romance would blossom between them again. Both envision keeping their professions and goals at the forefront. But, given the elusiveness of matters of the heart, an unexpected connection is re-formed on more than one level that tests their determination and ability to keep romance at bay.

Changing first-person perspectives are clearly outlined in chapter datebook headings, capturing the emotions of each character in a lively and winning manner. Navin's introduction, which opens the story, provides a taste of some of this drama and flair for description:
"On any other election night, I wouldn't give a rat's ass who won the presidency. As a news anchor, presidential election nights always feel like a combination of the Super Bowl and the Oscars, mixed with a healthy serving of a reality television competition."

Tara Sue Me's attention to detail in capturing the pessimism, opportunity, and determined visions of both characters is part of what fuels this romance beyond the connections they contemplate, try to reject, and build with one another.

Placing these elements against the backdrop of professional responsibilities and a past that would seem to dictate that their current lives stay on a different level creates a dynamic that makes for a compelling read. Romance followers move between draws and rejections in a catch-and-release style of action that builds both satisfying unpredictability and realistic atmosphere.

Perhaps the best interplays between the characters stem from Anna's position as President and Navin's role as a press corps member. Their actions may be considered at odds with the best interests of their professions and nation if they act on their emotions. Between campaign promises and personal revelations, the tension is very nicely drawn.

This gives a fine dimension of interest to the evolving romantic overlay and adds a full-bodied flavor to the story.
Madame President's interplay between political and emotional interactions makes it a top recommendation, especially for genre readers who seek more depth and auxiliary concerns than in an interpersonal relationship alone.

NEW YORK TIMES/USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR

Even though she graduated with a degree in science, Tara knew she’d never be happy doing anything other than writing. Specifically, writing love stories.

She started with a racy BDSM story and found she was not quite prepared for the unforeseen impact it would have. Nonetheless, she continued and The Submissive Series novels would go on to be both New York Times and USA Today Bestsellers. One of those, THE MASTER, was a 2017 RITA finalist for Best Erotic Romance. Well over one million copies of her books have been sold worldwide.

From the very first pages of this book, I was ecstatic. Finally! A real woman, a leading woman, a 36 year old woman who, for the fun of it, becomes the president of the United States! Not a 21-24 year old subservient, "little" passive girl who desires to be lead about by the mega-rich/alpha male billionaire, but an actual grown up woman with guts, BRAINS and power. AND an actual man. A man who was fine with walking beside his woman and let her lead, instead of dictating her every breath, because (surprise!) there are men in this godforsaken world who do not feel intimidated by a clever and powerful woman.

Don't get me wrong. I am not a feminist when it comes to the matters of the heart. But I am really, irrevocably and justifiably SICK AND TIRED of reading erotic novels of any kind whatsoever that all feature the naïve, small, doe-eyed, blond, submissive and pliant young girl who falls in love with the big and way bigger/ macho/alpha male/dominant/beasty billionaire/mafia lord etc etc. I don't know what it is that makes all writers of this category to go for this particular kind of role model couple, in 2020. Perhaps the readers ask for such things, though I can't, for the life of me, imagine how on earth 30-40-50 year old female readers can relate with 20 year old girls in any kind of love or erotic story. I just can't. Perhaps it is a dictatorship thing of the publishing world or an unspoken rule that dictates such a regressive approach towards femininity and the role model of what a woman should look like and be like, but it has become really unbearable over the years. Especially in this kind of scenario (political/White House affair), I have read at least 3 novels from 3 different writers that depicted the EXACT SAME deal: the male Governor-soon to become President of the United States and the very young, blonde teacher who is being dragged along his side (or rather behind him) and her only political aspirations are, of course, the school policy of her hubbie's new Government, because, God forbid if a woman dares to lust after playing a substantial role in the financial policy of her Country or the newclear/armament policy. Her womanhood would be lessened somehow.

Madame President was a great read. I couldn't put it down. Nazir was a great man. A REAL man. A man who could love a woman for her brains- and beauty. A man who didn't have to rely on his testosterone because he had brains too and not a hint of an ego complex. Anna was a great woman. A REAL woman. A clever, aspiring, strong, mature and (surprise again!) beautiful woman, because, yes damn it! A woman CAN be beautiful and desirable when she is 36 and 40 AND holds the most powerful place in the world.

BRAVO Tara Sue Me! BRAVO. I would give a million stars if I could, but there are only five in the rating option.

I read Madame President cover to cover nonstop. How timely it is given that we are in the middle of a presidential election. What are the chances that there would be a woman president much less a single one? Yet, Tara Sue Me gives us her inspired looks into the life and love of the first Commander In Chief. These characters are charismatic, complex and electrifying in their attraction. The story woven around them is interesting and dynamic.

Anna Fitzpatrick sacrificed her personal life in order to live the most public of lives. Navin Hazar has long lived his life in the public eye as a national news reporter and anchor. They have a history and try as they might to keep it private it does surface. They both pay a price but the benefits outweighed the negatives. Both are lonely yet never alone and rekindling a long ago relationship may be the saving grace for both of them.

Political romances are typically not really my thing, however, I LOVE Tara Sue Me’s books and with the gorgeous cover of this book I decided to give it a chance and I am SO glad I did.

Anna has just been elected as President. Navin is a new member of her Press Pool. Eighteen years ago they were in law school together, they had on magical night together and two days later Navin left without a word. After a long period without a word, they are now working closely together. The connection they had hasn’t left and sparks quickly start to fly between them.

The chemistry between Anna and Navin is great. There is tons of tension between them throughout and I loved the slow burn between them. I love Anna. She is strong, she is a 36 year old, single woman and now she is President. She wants to do a great job for the country she loves so much. Navin had dreams of being a judge, however, a family emergency changed his life course. I had mixed feelings about him at first, but as the story continued I did start to love him.

Madame President is a pretty quick read and definitely something to check out if you enjoy political romances. There was a slight issue with the timeline and it was definitely different from previous books I’ve read by Tara Sue Me, but still an enjoyable story.

This is the story of Navin & Anna. Navin is a top news anchor. Anna, of course, is The President. They knew each other ten years ago in law school. Navin left school without telling anyone why. That leaves us now in the present. He ends up on Anna's Press Pool, due to reasons beyond his control. This story is an intense love story due to the positions they hold. There is a lot of denial on both their parts, especially Anna's, even if they have strong feelings for each other. This is a very realistic story that relate to things in this day and age. There is an HEA, although there are certain things left open. I'm hoping there will another follow up book to wrap things all up.

First read of this author. Writing style was enjoyable. But, for some reason I just couldn't get into the plot. I finished it, but I'm at lukewarm for liking the story.

What a fabulous read this book was. A real love story, with romance and humour and the angst for the characters of not knowing if things will work out. The gorgeous President Anna (who certainly puts the current incumbent to shame) and the decidedly alpha Navin have an amazing rapport and their backstory sets the dynamics for their ongoing relationship. The side characters all fit in really well to bring this story to life. Would love to see this book filmed; Anna and Navin could be played by ...

Very different from her norm. But let me tell you, it will not disappoint you. I loved this book. I loved the characters. Anna and Navin bring so much life to this story. Cannot wait to see of Tara do a sequel. I need to know who is the leak? Are David and Oliver having trouble in their marriage? Who is Gage's contact I house? Does Having become a judge? All their truly be a white house wedding?

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about reading this book as it is so different from her other books that I have read and that I shouldn’t have as it was such a joy to read...
I really did enjoy reading about Anna and Navin’s both who have known each other in the past but both had followed different life paths so when Anna had become the President of the United States, and Navin was reassigned to the press pool from an higher position in the media they do their best to get to know each other again.which hasn’t been easy...with the background plot of a mole in the Anna’s political party kind of fizzling out which is a bit disappointing but the chance of having the main female character in a higher position than normal was different and for that is five stars but overall, I still found this to be a good sweet read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a “bookstagram made me do it” read and honestly, I have zero regrets. Which is funny because I normally do not read political/Washington based romances but made an exception for this one. Anna is the first female POTUS and Navin is a well known broadcast journalist. They briefly knew each back in University and are now thrown back together. The sexual tension between the two of them is alive and well but kept in check for all the obvious reasons. I enjoyed watching their relationship pan out and was okay with the way they ended things. It was actually perfect for them. No worries, this is a romance and they do get there happily ever after. My only grief is, we don’t get answers about who the mole in her staff is. One can make an educated guess, but nothing is confirmed. If you enjoy somewhat clean, political romances with women in charge, then this is the book for you. TBR and Enjoy!

Anna Fitzpatrick has just been elected as President of the United States the first woman to do so she knows she’ll have to work harder to prove herself capable of the job ahead . Although single she can’t forget the man who rocked her world whilst they were in law school . As the two got closer inevitably they spent a night of passion together after he just up and left with out a word or explanation and dropped out of college . Nevin Hazar was the person in question now he’s a top interviewer at GBNC Newsroom NYC,although he’s good at his job his real goal was to become a Judge but due to a family crisis his dream was sidelined . Up until now he’s told no one that he was in college with the Madame President but when the news is discovered by his bosses he’s moved from his job and assigned to the Press pool at the White House will these two be able to put their past behind them and move forward? .......time will tell😉........ This is a totally different book from what we usually get from Tara proving what an excellent author she is . Basically it’s a beautiful charming love story with a beautiful ending . 😍😍

To be successfully elected to be the President of the United States is outstanding. To be the first woman to do so is fabulous, unique and an awesome achievement. Anna Elizabeth Fitzpatrick has done this. She is thirty six, beautiful, intelligent, single and independent. She does the job. But what sacrifices has she made to be the most powerful woman in the world?

Well. I am a true and ardent Tara Sue Me fan. I have read almost all of her books and many of them twice. She has successfully written a thrilling and captivating story. And 'Madame President' captured my attention from the front cover right to the very end. With some luck, this book will be made into a film and will have a sequel.
