Anna K Payne loves a mystery. Her favorite movies include one-liners and things that explode. Her relationship with her Savior is her number one priority and her family come second.

But her passion and vision is to inspire hope, encourage others, love richly, and listen well through the strength of Jesus Christ. She seeks to inspire and encourage through her devotionals and cozy mysteries as well as aiding her family of writers publish their own books.

Anna likes to study the art of writing, learning to edit her own work, and exploring the creation of an author platform. When she isn’t at the computer writing or editing she is discussing plots with any one of her children – including her talented son-in-law. She has been discovered asking the advice of her cats. “They have good ideas.” she says. The world around her offers a variety of sinister plots even if it is just someone waiting for the bus.

    4-1/2 stars. During the pandemic, Emily is now working from home in IT. She decides to adopt a kitten as she is no longer living with an allergic relative. The story deals with pet adoption & the many problems the pandemic brought. I enjoyed meeting the characters & look forward to learning more about them in sequels. Brought back some sad feelings, but overall a book of hope & caring. I received a free copy of this book & am reviewing because I enjoyed the book so much.

    Although, I am not a “cat-person”, I found Emily’s Cat Mysteries quite intriguing. The author’s perception of her cats communicating with each other was quite delightful. Then Emily's understanding was quite enjoyable. I am looking forward to the second in this series!

    This peek back to the horrors of the lockdown and pandemic is especially poignant as the many businesses and homes that benefitted from extra funding during the pandemic find themselves in bankruptcy as programs are no longer funded.

    Many folks who survived the lockdown passed away afterwards due to lapses in care or treatment with the shifting of resources, movements of physicians, and strange permissions - why was my eighty plus year old mom forced to wait on a heart surgery deemed "non essential" when a friend was able to hsve knee surgeries?

    As we still struggle financially and with our faith and well being during the endemic, this look back on the losses and special gifts of what will hopefully remain a singular period in history is very moving.

    The special gifts of the animals in providing comfort, love and support is touching - and we were of course compelled to try to share extra cuddles with our own kitty collective - which they tolerated and endured as long as they deemed fit , before demanding additional tributes.

    Enjoying the openness is facing losses, faith and work, and life together.

    I am delighted to share my thoughts on this charming book, as it tells the story of a computer programmer and introvert, Emily, and her journey to getting the kitten she has always wanted, Jeffrey.

    The story is set during the Covid-19 pandemic, and it is incredibly heartwarming to watch Emily and Jeffrey navigate the world together during such a difficult time. Emily is full of love and kindness, and Jeffrey is a loyal companion who always has her back.

    The author has done an amazing job of creating a vibrant and interesting cast of characters, and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to see what would happen next. This book will be a great read for animal lovers, and those looking for a heartwarming story that captures the reality of the pandemic and how it has changed the world and the way we live.

    I highly recommend this book to people of all ages and backgrounds, as it is a great story that is full of hope and joy.

    A new delightful series about a cat and his owner. We have Emily and IT worker who is set to work at home due to the pandemic. Home and alone she is now able to adopt the kitten she has always wanted. In walks Jeffrey, an ultrasmart, talking black cat. They get to know each other, meander the halls of pet adoption, and solve a murder, not bad for the first novel in a new series. Delightful. I received this novel from StoryOrigin.     Emily has to work from home now because of the pandemic and decides she needs a cat. Within a week she has five cats and a house mate, no loneliness now.Her new roommate Lucas is questioned about a murder near his workplace. With the help of Jeffrey the case gets solved. This is a cute, quick read. I think young kids would enjoy it too. Who doesn't like the idea of a cat who seems to talk.
