Kimberly holds a degree in behavioral science from Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington, and is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers.

Rachel Leblang has been using audiobooks to liven up her frequent car rides for over eight years now, and annoying her family with silly voices for twenty-seven. While earning a bachelor's degree in Japanese language studies, she was asked to lend her voice to a classmate's video game and a passion for voice acting was born! She made the natural leap into audiobooks, and has produced 114 books to date. Love Mystery & Camaraderie of Team!
Trouble with a capital T. Nobody on the right side of the law much cares for TV news reporter Trinity Lockhart of KXB News in Seattle. So when this thief’s daughter gets an anonymous tip about stolen art at a prestigious art gallery in Seattle and turns to FBI Special Agent Kyle Richards for help, he balks. As does Protection, Inc, the ex-police group he recruits to protect her and the police (did I mention Trinity greatly distrusts the police?!). At first, I had a hard time caring about Trinity and Kyle. But by 40% the way through, the action begins to build and I was thoroughly invested, skillfully drawn in by Kimberly Rose Johnson’s slow build romance and carefully unpeeling of Trinity’s real personality. Just like Kyle, I found myself unable to resist the gradual appeal of this deepening, dangerous mystery. It was fun to see characters from previous books and feel the great family camaraderie established between members of the Protection, Inc. group. Read these books, Protection, Inc, to get the full effect. You will really enjoy this novel, Dark Threat, book four, by the time you reach it. Recommended. I gratefully thank the author and publisher for a copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. No positive thoughts were required, and all opinions are voluntarily left and solely my own.

    Author Kimberly Rose Johnson pens the fourth book in her inspirational suspense series, featuring the Protection Inc. team.

    In Dark Threat, news reporter Trinity Lockhart receives an anonymous tip about a Seattle art gallery that may be a front for criminal activity. She turns to FBI agent Kyle Richards for help after Trinity recognizes she is in danger. His friends at Protection Inc. try to keep her safe while Kyle investigates the art gallery for possible smuggling.

    Johnson creates a satisfying mystery adding a dash of clean romance and suspense, as well as light faith elements in this inspirational novel. Characters from her earlier books make an appearance. Johnson’s characters are relatable and realistic, and the storyline is interesting.

    Trinity grows in her faith -- and in her trust of others, as she reluctantly accepts the services of the bodyguards. The suspense is not overly intense but has plenty of action. Although an entertaining adult book, this could be read by older teens without posing any concerns.

    If the earlier books haven’t been read, then reading them is suggested, as they introduce other members of Protection, Inc.: Direct Threat, Imminent Threat, and Certain Threat. However, it could be read as a standalone. The fifth book in this series, Personal Threat, is due in September 2021.

    Recommended for suspense fans and adult collections in public libraries.
