Spring Brings Summer Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars (15)

An inspiring and calming short collection of poetry that describes the Authors’ favorite seasons of the year spring and summer. At the beginning of the book, the author depicts her mother seeing the first rain of spring by looking out the house window. Throughout the book, the author brings to life Japanese blossoms, birds, Easter time, the beach, and sandcastles at the beach. This book would make a great gift for an Easter gift. Or perhaps help you get out of the winter blues. It would also be meaningful for someone born during the spring and summertime.

This is an unusual Kindle book. The author used the power words to guide the reader through specific, simple spring and summer scenes, to intensify the emotion of the moment, while focusing on the impact of colorful, beautiful pictures. Nicely done!

My son loved the bright paintings that the author used in this book. It's very sweet and calming but I do agree that I would have enjoyed it more if it had more word content in it. All in all, I really liked this book! It would be great for 5 years old and younger for bedtime!

I loved the pictures in this book. I could feel that I was in this beautiful place of summer!

This is a beautiful book, particularly beautifully illustrated. She and her illustrator produced the background images and were inspired to do this by paintings that she was familiar with.

As this is a poetry book, the images are not clear and concise, which is how it should be. It allows the reader to see things that can’t typically be observed in the pictures.

The author and illustrator have created a sense of springtime, starting with the sunrise and going into the spring activities: Easter rebirth, baby birds, being born, on beaches, hot sand, hot on your feet, and ice cream. I’m surprised she didn’t go into fall in winter, which also would’ve added more to the book and made it more beautiful. It’s an excellent poetry book and beautiful. Illustrated, highly recommended.

Not a typical children's book. Beautiful illustrations accompanied by simple prose guiding the reader through the changing seasons.
