About the author

Marilyn L. Davis Bio
Marilyn is a Certified Addiction Recovery Empowerment Specialist who opened and ran an award-winning residential facility from 1990-2011, called North House.
She recently celebrated 32 years of abstinence-based recovery.
She is the author of Therapeutic Integrated Educational Recovery System and editor-in-chief at fromaddict2advocate.com and twodropsofink.com.
In 2008, Brenau University created the Marilyn Davis Community Service Learning Award, which honors individuals working in recovery and mental health.
In 2010, Marilyn received the Liberty Bell award, given to non-judges and attorneys for contributions to the criminal justice system and communities.
Before reaching these milestones, she was a desperate woman on drugs, managing rock bands at night, pretending to be okay, but ultimately giving up on herself, losing her husband, children, family, and friends due to her addiction.
A chance encounter with a 74-year old Native American named Gray Hawk showed her that healing herself would include meetings, Steps, and providing a house of healing for other women.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2022Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI have been inspired and remotivated by this book. I had given up for a time on my memoir. The questions and suggestions will have me back at it as soon as I finish reading her book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2021Format: PaperbackMemories into Memoir by Marilyn Davis is nothing short of a miracle guide that will help you write your life memories into book form and share it with the world.
I am a firm believer that each of us has a story to share within us. Even if you are not a writer by trade or hobby, she has given everyone the gift of learning how and prepares you both mentally, emotionally as you begin to dig deep for even the memories you may have forgotten about. She has made us a step-by-step guide and workbook that will walk you through the process and keeps you motivated and excited to see your finished outline, timelines, and hopefully a manuscript at the end of reading this amazing book.
So many gems and nuggets laid out and formatted with plenty of sheets in the back of the workbook to use. She also helps you through your memories that might bring up old pain as not all memories, as Marilyn states, "may still sting or be some of our life obstacles," so she prepares you for this. Be ready and begin to feel some healing. These are only some snippets of what you will find within the pages of this book and guide.
Besides, you never know, by the time you are done reading and using this guide?
You may become a writer!
I highly recommend this book to writers and non-writers!
