Carol is a baby boomer who hails from New York and found a home in the Richmond, Virginia area with a husband and cats-- all rescues (the cats not the husband). Besides writing and editing, Carol tutors reading for adult learners, sings in a rock band, and investigates the paranormal. She taught earth science, acted in community theatre, worked in information technology, and was a commercial radio DJ. She's still considering what she wants to be when she grows up.

Carol lives in the Richmond metro area of Virginia with her husband. She is a cat mom at heart.

The desire to write struck her out of the blue one day in 2014. To date, she’s written magazine articles, fiction and nonfiction books, two collections, one of Halloween haiku poetry and one of short stories and poems, three children’s books, and stories that are included in anthologies. She’s always listening for her Muse’s next big idea.

Besides writing, Carol enjoys singing, tutors reading for adult learners, and investigates the paranormal. She taught Earth science, acted in community theatre, worked in broadcasting as a commercial radio DJ, and in information technology.

    Everyone imagines at some point waking up to the unexpected. And yes, sometimes good things actually do happen to good people. A fun read with corners to turn , and love. I was able to picture the characters in my mind from Ms Smith's descriptions. This was certainly a nice break from Zombies, EMP's, and scavenging for morsels of food.
