    Trying to make a female look stronger by making a man inept is not romance. It is just plain taxing to read. Not once did I ever get the since of self-doubt about protecting Marlee or determination to keep her safe from Ben. He was supposed to be seasoned veteran detective and yet the only thing I saw from him was a bad actor in an infomercial. Marlee was not a "pistol" she definitely had an attitude, but not a good one. She was an obnoxious loud mouth. He was supposed to guard her but the only thing working on him was his penis. It was definitely not his brain. Glad the book was free, but it still cost me my time.

    The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

    Lila Ferrari is creating some really twisted criminals which keeps me turning pages especially when the weather is suitable for staying indoors and reading. I like the characters in this series and it was good to see Ben found someone to cure his bachelor ways, even if she did frustrate the help out of him.

    Enough to put me off reading. I absolutely love reading and normally once I start a book, I’m sucked in. Book 1 in this series was actually not too bad, which is why I bought book 2! Dreadful story, characters and plot. I’ve just opened it on 24% to see if I can get back into it and managed 1 page! 1 page was enough!
