Praise for Savage:

"This book will really tug at your heartstrings" - Concise Book Reviews "I really really like this book because not only was it a refreshing take on what would seem like a very familiar genre but it gives a retrospective male voice which is very unique in the paranormal romance genre (...) a huge congrats for Ms. Rose for creating such a fantastic novel." - Sky Rose Reviews "I LOVE THIS BOOK. ITS MARVELOUS. ONCE I STARTED TO READ IT I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. BEST BOOK I READ." - Review from Goodreads "The story was charming and yet very realistic. Thank you very much for that, Willow Rose!" - Books Cats and Coffee. "I really enjoyed this one. Willow Rose has managed to craft a story that both keeps you interested and guessing all at the same time. It was a nice break from the usual, girl meets boy, boy is a werewolf kind of paranormal romance." - Wolf Majick Reviews "I have to say I really did enjoy this book (...) Savage is a very interesting book with good characters and gripping situations." - Library Mosaic Reviews "Wow... Im a little stunned right now to be honest.. because the lovely Willow Rose has actually done what I didn't really think was possible anymore. Stun me so much that I actually have to think about the message of the book (...) this book struck a chord in me that I think we all need to reflect on (...) Splendid writing, adorable characters and an ending that will leave you wanting more ( I know I did) !" - Review from Goodreads.com "I have to say that this was the best book I have read in a long time. I simply loved the characters and the storyline. It is a very beautiful book with wonderful people (...) To anyone who likes a good book I'll just say: get this one! I promise you won't regret it." - Review from Goodreads.com "I quickly became immersed in the story and had a difficult time letting go the few times I had to set my kindle aside in order to take care of some pressing chores. (...) I loved the voice of Christian; it was fascinating watching his character grow and become stronger as he faced many trials. Several times, the decisions he makes become defining points in his life. This is an adventure story with romantic elements, but it also does not shy away from delving into deeper contemplation of issues most of us have to face at one time or another. That's not say it comes across as sanctimonious or preachy, because that is just not the case. The swamp scenes were my favorite. I had the action perfectly choreographed in my head as I read those. Savage should appeal to older teens and mature readers, too". - Night Owl Reviews Scroll up and get a copy today.

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I was given a copy of Savage from the author for a review via Full Moon Bites.

Christian Langaa is 22 years old and prefers to be called Chris. He leaves his home in Denmark to spend a year in St. Augustine, Florida. He will be going to med. school. He is going to be a doctor like his Dad. Chris is going to be staying with a very wealthy doctor and his family. Leaving his home and coming to America was his father's idea. His Dad called in a favor from friends of his. Chris came to America in 1983 when Michael Jackson's song "Thriller" came out. Chris and all of his friends played it all the time.

Chris meets the girl next door Aiyana, over time Chris and Aiyana fall in love with each other. Everyone that lives on Chris' street and the whole town doesn't like Aiyana and her family. They think they are weird but they just don't know them. They have never took the time to visit with any of them and find out who they are and what kind of people they are.

Heather the daughter of the doctor that he lives with tells him to leave Aiyana and her family alone. She tells him if her father finds out about Chris and Aiyana he will send him back to Denmark. Heather is probably jealous of Chris because she likes him as well.

When I read the summary of Savage I wasn't sure that I would like it very well. I am very glad that I gave it a chance because it is a very good book. I am very thankful to the author and Full Moon Bites for giving me the opportunity to read Savage. I can't wait to read Daughters of the Jaguar #2.

This one took a completely different path than I had expected it would or even hoped for. But yet I still find myself loving it.

The year is 1983 and Micheal Jackson reigns supreme on the radio. Christian comes to Florida from Denmark to finish Med School. It's his first time ever being in the States, but he's looking forward to this new experience. His father sets him up in a nice house with a wealthy family and thus his adventure begins... With a near death experience his first night in Florida. And a journey of self discovery, passion, lust & a love like no other, with the beautiful "outcast" next door.

I could not get enough of this paranormal/supernatural/ romance read.
As I said the tone of this one will have you thinking you know where it's going and then you are slapped, dragged, & swung into a completely different direction.

I cried happy, sad, and angry tears with this one. It certainly doesn't end the way you hope or expect it would. And I can't wait to dive into book 2.
I would certainly recommend this read.

    Savage (Daughters of the Jaguar)

Christian Langaa is a young medical student. When his father offers him the opportunity to study in America he leaps at the chance. Coming to St Augustine is a chance of a lifetime. He had no idea that the vast swamps would have secrets of their own. Christian is well liked by his hosts, a Doctor with no son to leave his practice too. And a mother image wanting a strong male for her daughter's husband. A medical training most would only fantasize about. It is all there for him but is it what he wants to take.
It is 1983 a near death experience with two alligators and a jaquar changes Chris forever. He finds himself filled with a magic he never knew existed. Life choices become entangled and he has to decide what he will do. Her love is promised to another, his future profession and practice is tied to the Doctor's daughter. The plot twists and turns and you wonder which direction Chris will go yet even upon the ending you realize that there is more to the story that will be told. I loved Savage. It is wonderfully written. I felt myself in the swamp trailing the jaguar and I could feel the magic in the story. I look forward to its sequel Broken (Daughters Jaguar #2.

This is an intriguing story about Christian Langaa, a medical student from Denmark studying in Jacksonville, and his encounters with a very unusual family next door and a jaguar. It is a coming-of-age story that includes romance (bittersweet), and paranormal aspects. There was one line in the story that still does not make sense to me: “They wore linen clothes of animal skin…” Still, it is well written and worth reading. Sex is part of the story but it is not particularly erotic.

But I couldn't make it very far in this one. Plus the fact that I guessed pretty quickly the Jaguar was not really what it seemed and now after reading the other low star reviews I see I was right. I wish I had read them first. I usually don't care what others say if I do like a writer. I guess you can't hit a homer all the time, but Rose does have a great batting average and clearly many did love this one. So if this is the first book of hers you've read and not impressed don't give up she has some great and highly entertaining books out there.

The story is narrated by an older Christian and is written, more or less, in the first person.

It's the early 1980s and 22 year old Christian has been sent to study at Med school in Florida for one year. He is originally from Dennark and looked forward to living in the land that produced artists such as Michael Jackson and clothing such as stone washed jeans!

Wanting to fit in with his host's daughter and her friends, he goes with them to a nature reverse where an horrific incident changes his life forever.........

I really enjoyed this story. It's kinda like it was written for the YA audience but, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 18 myself.

It's a keeper for me but I'm only giving it 4.5 stars as I'm willing to wait - to see if it's going to be a trilogy - before purchasing the next book.

    Totally worth reading.
