AMNESIA Kindle Edition
Arrogant.
Aggravating.
Annoying.
Those are just a few of the names I have for him that start with the letter A. I haven’t gotten through the rest of the alphabet ... yet.
From the moment I met Max three years ago, he was nothing but an arsehole. The only reason we put up with each other is because we share the same best friend.
Then, everything suddenly changes when Max is involved in a horrific accident that sets him back three years. He remembers his friends, but here’s the real kicker: He doesn’t remember … me.
At first, I think it must be a cruel joke, but then I see how serious he is. Over time, I get to know the real Max Cooper. The one who can be sweet, funny, and kind. The one who shows me he’s not such an arsehole after all.
Then, the inevitable happens. I fall for him.
Just as things between us begin to balance out, I lose my own equilibrium, and I don’t know why.
But, despite all of this, no one is prepared for the real terror that’s about to unfold.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLucy and Max both attend the same university and share the same circle of friends. The thing is, Max loathes Lucy from the moment he is introduced to her and she feels the same way about him. But Max’s accident changes everything.
First, Max has no memory of the last three years or his hatred for Lucy. This allows them to finally become friends and Lucy moves in with Max so she can take care of him. But Max is keeping a secret from Lucy.
Secondly, Max’s accident triggered something in Lucy which is causing her to have panic attacks and old memories start to resurface, memories she had been suppressing. But why?
The twists and turns kept me engaged throughout the entire book. This was such a powerful and intriguing story and most wonderfully written. Lucy’s character was truly loveable and my heart broke for her so many times throughout the book. A must read. It is so worth the money and time.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe issue of young “adult bullying” is an interesting one in how people can set out to humiliate and/or ostracize others in their peer group or environment. Aside from the issue of amnesia, this in particular was fascinating to me. We don’t really consider adults susceptible to bullying, but when individuals find themselves in repeated company of others with hostility towards them, this could happen, especially to psychologically vulnerable people.
The main reveal at the end was not wrapped up well for me. Max’s transgression was far too egregious, revealing much too immature a character for an immediate reconciliation with Lucy. Instant forgiveness? Okay, maybe. Instant trust? Not even close. A lot more focus should have been placed on the road to rebuilding trust between these two. Yes, this is anticlimactic to some of the events, but you can’t leave Lucy hanging out to dry with this loser as is.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is my third bill from this author clearly I enjoy or I am entertained by her writing so I probably would read other books from her.
I liked Lucy well enough however I found her to be a bit annoying at times. I felt that she was may be a bit insane but of course you had to go to the journey to understand everything. Max I liked but I couldn’t trust him I felt like something was off with him but he never really did anything that I could say yes that’s what it is they don’t trust. I found it hard to see the chemistry between Max and Lucy because I felt it came from Left field. However when I finish the book and think about the beginning it does make a bit more sense.
There is a point where a character says I’m bored with this and no truer words have ever been spoken by character that I felt so much because at that point I was bored with what was going on. Around the 76% mark things really pick up and puzzle pieces start to be put together I had figured out most of it but when everything is revealed it’s a lot more than I thought. Pretty sad But I am happy with the conclusion.
Overall I give this 3 1/2 stars I would recommend it it was great to have a little mystery to try to figure out. There’s not a lot of heat or chemistry but the mystery I think carries the book well enough.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhen Lucy saves Pixie from tripping over her own two feet in a college course they are both taking they become fast friend in which Pixie introduces Lucy into her circle of friends.....which includes Max with the golden brown hair.
Max takes such an instant dislike towards Lucy which includes nasty pranks flying back and forth between the two in the three years they have known each other.
All of the animosity between the two comes to the end when Max has an accident and can not remember the last three years and when Lucy comes to the hospital with Pixie and Max sees her for the first time he is attracted to her.
His accident, their new friendship turns into an romantic relationship
which opens up a lot of closed doors in both into both of their past lives.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAlmost dropped it as I thought the story was getting a bit boring and predictable but then the twist and turns took me by surprise! It took amnesia to a new level and was pleasantly surprised
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI tend to let book covers draw me in and when I saw this book I downloaded a sample and I am embarrassed to say I let it sit in my library for sometime (bad habit of mine- while devouring other books) tonight I finally read it and i have to say this was definitely one of the best books I’ve read in a very long time. From beginning to end I was entranced. This boom brought out so many emotions I can’t lie and say I didn’t cry at one point . Although It was heartbreaking to see what she went through and having experienced something similar it was very easy to relate to Lucy lu❤️ I am so happy she got her happy ending with Theo and his dad got what he deserved ! I can’t wait to read more from this author she is a new fav❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on January 21, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe story is in desperate need of an editor. Even the title of the book was misspelled on the title page (it may be fixed now, but was wrong when I bought the book a few days after release). It all just needed too much work. As a rough draft, it was decent. As a final copy, that I paid money for... not so much.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 11, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseJust when you think you have the plot figured out, there is a twist. Then another and another, till your not really sure where the author is taking you, than bam! Very well done!

clare burnsReviewed in Australia on February 13, 20195.0 out of 5 stars It destroyed me to finish this book - IT WAS THAT GREAT!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseHoly cow!!! I was reading away happily, making my way through this book daily at the gym; great story of two people who go from frenemies to a couple, with a little intrigue and a few questions and unexplained panic attacks for Lucy. When I read I get sucked into the story and feel like I'm a fly on the wall, watching but unable to interact......
Then I got to chapter 23!!!!!!! Talk about sucker punched in the guts while on the eliptical!!!! I almost fell off - it really was like I was punched; the wind was totally knocked out of me. I went from watching quietly to experiencing every hurt, every betrayal. Suddenly I had all Lucy's memories, I knew exactly what had happened in her life - but she didn't. I wanted to stop reading just so she wouldn't have to find out what I knew; I really didn't want her to have to go through that again not knowing what I knew was coming.
This is the first I've read of Jaimie Roberts and if this is a sample I'm coming back for more.....but first I need to sit in darkness and cry, scream and rant against humanity for the hurt I feel on bahalf of Lucy.
Terri T.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 3, 20195.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant book !!!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA brilliant suspense book from Jaimie Roberts, well written and full of twists and turns at every page. I love when Jaimie writes suspense/thriller and this one does not disappoint one bit.
The characters of Max and Lucy was intriguing and addictive even if it was a slow build at first, it soon escalated and my heart was in my mouth. They think they know each other but what does life throw at them to make it all change and decimate their lives. Read this book and find out.
Superb in all ways - oh and that cover; perfect !!!!

Cliente KindleReviewed in Italy on February 12, 20194.0 out of 5 stars BELLO!!!
Format: KindleVerified Purchase***LIBRO IN INGLESE***
Sarah - Kindle and KoffeeReviewed in the United Kingdom on December 15, 20204.0 out of 5 stars Completely wrong footed!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWhat a twisted dark tale... A few plot twists I worked out but not even my over active imagination could have prepared me for the biggest twist of them all.... And was the plot started unravelling the rest of it was like a tunsami.
I did find Lucy's character annoying with the contstant 'its becuase I have one of those faces' as an explanation for everything that goes wrong in her life. It got a little tedious fast! Otherwise a great read with plenty going on that will keep the pages turning!
