Wanted: Shopkeeper (Silverpines Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars (570)

Silverpines, Oregon
1899

Millie Messer is exhausted and overwhelmed with raising her children and running the mercantile after the death of her husband in the earthquakes that devastated Silverpines. She does what many of the young widows and daughters are doing: Advertise for a Mail Order Husband. She thinks she’s found the perfect man to become her helpmate and new father for her four children.

Clay Cutler has a secret, two actually. One will be revealed when he steps off the train in Silverpines. He only hopes Millie doesn’t renege on marrying him when she finds out. The other he’ll keep to himself until it’s necessary to reveal it.

Millie is shocked when not only Clay steps off the train but five children with him. All she wanted was a shopkeeper. Now there are nine children in the family. All she knows is that there are lots of meals to cook and laundry to do. That and the outlaws, conmen, and swindlers who’ve come to town. Plus, she knows he’s keeping something from her.

Will a new husband and nine children be too much for Millie? Will Clay’s secret keep her from trusting him? Will it help protect the town from those who want to cause harm? What mischief can nine children get into? Is Clay the Wanted: Shopkeeper who will heal Millie’s broken heart?

Millie lost her husband in the earthquake like so
Many other women. She is trying hard to run the
Mercantile as well as her husband did.

Clay answered Millie's mail order husband ad! But
he brought his five children with him, this makes
nine children! How will they all work this out?

That's not all, Clay has another secret one he's
afraid to reveal to Millie. How will she react when
she finds out? Will she still agree to marry him?

These stories are amazing and this one is too!
I highly recommend you get this book! It is
    Fantastic!

Millie, who has four children got a big surprise when Clay, her mail order groom shows up with five children?
Will they ever be a really happy family? They have to overcome some fun but also dangerous challenges before they can manage that.
I really loved this new story in this series. Fun characters, the parents and children. A story about love and faith, in each other and God.

How many times had this story line happened in the old west? I love that this author conquered this topic. The ups and downs of family life was tackled realistically. The struggles of a husband and wife not really knowing each other and the kids just add more stress on top of it. Each story in this series is fantastic. I love that it interacts with characters from other stories without losing their personalities. I also loved that there were "callings". I heard them called a few things. Some people shy from what they are. I am glad this author embraced them in her characters

I enjoyed Millie and Clay’s story. Nine kids! They made it work, even with the trials of the wicked Mr Ternbell. The Calling thing was a bit strange, but I did love how their focus was on the Lord and each other and not on their trials.

I loved this story! Imagine posting for a mail order groom, you go to the train drops with your four children and he exits the train with five more! From there on this story just gets better. There is danger, lots of children antics, happiness and lots of love. Definitely a book to read.

Out of all the Silverpines books published so far (8 of them) this one is hands down my favorite. I love how the two families must learn together and become one, and how all the children are written, with their own likes, dislikes, and personalities. The overall plot is good, and ties in nicely with the rest of the series.

I just admit that the thought of NINE children gives me the shivers! Gene Autry?? Really? Orvon😀 married INA May Spivey. Seriously, that was his real name. Since he is real, was Nugget Nate?
