About the author

This true story will grab at your heart as you read of the loss, grief, betrayal, greed and anguish that gripped her soul. Emotionally and financially devastated by the annihilation called divorce, Samantha writes to unveil her own love story of how God pursued her, a woman from Nowhere Louisiana, to reveal her identity and security in Him. Her story is heart wrenching, intriguing, surprising, amazing and inspiring as she has now experienced first hand, the love of God that has set her free.
She writes from a place of experiencing such devastation in order to uncover and convey the truth to her three young daughters who experienced the ravages of separation from their mother. Her story speaks of the lie and plan of her husband that he perpetrated upon her after reveling and planning her demise for four years. The author speaks of the supernatural in a way that will amaze you. You will have no doubt that God’s hand is not too short to save those that are lost.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 June 2017Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseI must admit when I first looked at the cover of this book I was rather critical. I love graphic design and the artwork left me somewhat disappointed. Yet, as soon as I started to read the book, I was overwhelmed by the power of the story. When I was midway through the book I realised that the picture had a story too. A story so moving that I soon forgot about the front cover, and could see Samantha's heart. A heart that had been broken by a man hell-bent on her destruction. The sheer magnitude of his attempt to destroy her builds as the story unfolds. The calamity brought about by his actions makes us fully aware of the depravity and evil of human sinfulness.
Samantha writes in a very honest and compelling manner. The story at times appears dark and troubling. Yet, she skilfully draws our attention away from the despair and the heartache caused by sin, to a Saviour relentless in his pursuit of her. I was moved by her confidence in God, in the ability to trust him when everything seemed to be fragmenting around her. The story reveals the supernatural presence of God, manifested on three particular occasions. She demonstrates throughout the book how God answers prayer and how even when our hearts are broken, our hearts can break for others too. The children's ministry she engages in will leave you breathless. As you witness the tenacity and courage of Samantha to pursue the well-being of others, even when her own well-being was in jeopardy.
If you are struggling in life and need a book that is both honest and full of hope, this is a book for you. If you want to ascribe glory to God in the midst of trying times, then this will give you the motivation to do so. I recommend it to you. The chances are you will read it in one sitting and the practical advice she leaves the reader at the conclusion of the book will give you something substantial to reflect on.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2012The author of this book has gone through many trials and throughout all, her honesty and love of God shines through. Despite the circumstances in which she finds herself she continues to believe in and find Gods love. Her faith is obviously strong and despite most of the people in her life letting her down, she knows that God will never do that. It is an inspiring story, if slightly harrowing due to all the difficulties the author faces. Initially, I personally found the writing style quite disconcerting, but I quickly got used to it. At the end of the book she explains this book was written for her and not for publication, and this makes sense as to why it is written in this particular way. It is for this reason I ahve given the book four stars rather than five. However, do not let this put you off as it is an excellent book which will be enjoyed by many. I would recommend this book to anyone but particulary those going through divorce or having suffered abuse. It will give you hope.
I received a copy of this book from the author for review. This has in no way clouded my review and I have given it a fair and honest review.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2013I received this book for review free from the author. I want to thank her for her generosity and for writing the book. It was full of personal stories and was easy to read. My heart went out to her because of the abuse she suffered especially when it involved her daughters. I was happy that she found solice in God during this time and even managed to help others at the same time. Her story paints the picture that she is a very caring person and didn't give up when the going got tough but continued to fight for what was right.
The writing style was a little more like bullet points than a flowing story and had sudden ends stating that she would talk more about it later, making it seem more like a self help book rather than a story but still very good. The book kept my attention and I couldn't put it down. I would definately say it is worth the time to read it. It is pretty short and has a lot of information, not only about her life but how the lessons she learned can help others in their struggles.
Keep the faith, Samantha, and thank you again for this opportunity!
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 June 2017Format: Kindle EditionA true love story. Full of emotion and a heart touching story of Ryan Chandler's life. The story is about how she have struggled in life and how her love for her children and faith in her God carried her through a crucible of fire and in the end, made her a stronger, better person, ready to carry on with a life that is again filled with love, joy and laughter.

I read this book very quickly; I understand what the author means when she says that the book for her was cathartic, in some ways it was hard to read because of its content and you realise the really is someone's story and not a fiction book. I am not sure I like the style of writing, but could not tell you why not. I found that I had to finish it because I wanted to know what happened. I think the book is worth a read, and for those who are `going through it' it could be very helpful.

Margaret LukasikReviewed in the United States on 11 March 20165.0 out of 5 stars A Story Of Great Faith And Renewal!
Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseIt’s always a blessing to learn of the miraculous ways in which God works in His children’s lives. In the story of Samantha Ryan Chandler titled A Love Story...How God Pursued Me and Found Me: An Impossibly True Story, I had the pleasure of watching the power of God at work in her life to bring deliverance and renewal even when she didn’t know God, but only knew of Him in her heart. I greatly admire the author’s strength and courage, especially during her most exhausting and difficult times. Her unrelenting love of God goes beyond inspiring to a place of undying trust and faith that we can all learn from and follow.
While I loved Samantha’s colorful description of her roots in Louisiana and her fun childhood experiences, I was also grieved to learn of the suffering she endured as a child because of her mother. Having been abused throughout my childhood gave me an overwhelming sense of compassion for the fears she faced and the darkness that filled her childhood home. Yet her writing doesn't reflect that pain but instead the family and friends that lifted her out of the darkness of abuse with their unconditional love, a strong spirit to keep moving forward and her daughters who she makes clear throughout the book are the greatest blessings in her life.
Samantha never gives up, but instead uses the miracles she's experienced and the inner guidance she's received as beacons of light to lead her to the promised land. For many years she suffered through a marriage that was far removed from the image she was given while in the engagement phase of her relationship. Believing her third marriage would be a blessing, it quickly turned into a curse. As her life plunged into an unrelenting nightmare, she remained constant in her faith and continued her work with the children’s ministry she co-founded that provides life-changing surgeries for children from developing countries. Yet, while Samantha kept busy with unselfish endeavors, this period may have been the darkest time of her life, especially when facing divorce and the loss of her children. While this could have sent her into a state of giving up, she met every challenge with a renewed trust that God would protect her even when it appeared that her life was in danger.
Samantha’s faith and the love she has for her girls turned the difficulties they lived into positive situations that has brought each to a place of great success and purpose. I believe Samantha’s story will help others do the same as they look to God as their source of help and guidance. God certainly pursued Samantha, and her book is a wonderful example of what happens when we dare to let God find us!

Format: Kindle EditionVerified PurchaseA true story- telling of physical and emotional hardship, abuse, pain and loss that clearly shows the author's faith, hope and belief in a loving God to mend her broken heart and bring forgiveness. And her trust in Biblical truths. Despite the sad, descriptive story, which may depress fellow sufferers, the theme hopefully brings a reader to finding personal encouragement and belief in Gods power to heal.

Emelia MosimaReviewed in the United States on 20 September 20125.0 out of 5 stars A sad story that left me inspired
Honestly, if this was a Hollywood movie it would be easy for me to swallow, but since Samantha Ryan Chandler claims A love Story, How God Pursued Me and Found Me: An Impossibly True Story is the story of her life, i am shocked but thankful to God for making Samantha the strong and hopeful woman she sounds to be.
Samantha talks about how God showed up in her life that looked so broken beyond repair. She came from a dysfunctional family, made bad choices, went through multiple divorces but still has her faith intact. Amidst her own struggles, Samantha still has time to help the vulnerable children across the world.
Samantha also reveals how God supernaturally made His presence real in the midst of her trials. What is more thrilling is the fact that Samantha writes her inspiring story while she is still in the battle field, not knowing how the end of things will look like. This depicts the kind of faith this woman has and it will propel you to take a leap of faith no matter what kind of struggle you may be going through.
I highly recommend this book.
C. barberReviewed in the United States on 2 May 20132.0 out of 5 stars I never finished it due to lack of interest.
I rarely leave a book I have begun unfinished. This book, however, for one reason or another I simply could not get into the story at all. I read only about 1/3 of it, if that and deleted it. Others may like it, I did not; different views and tastes probably.
