R.L. Kenderson is two best friends writing under one name.

Renae has always loved reading, and in third grade, she wrote her first poem where she learned she might have a knack for this writing thing. Lara remembers sneaking her grandmother’s Harlequin novels when she was probably too young to be reading them, and since then, she knew she wanted to write her own.

When they met in college, they bonded over their love of reading and the TV show Charmed. What really spiced up their friendship was when Lara introduced Renae to romance novels. When they discovered their first vampire romance, they knew there would always be a special place in their hearts for paranormal romance. After being unable to find certain storylines and characteristics they wanted to read about in the hundreds of books they consumed, they decided to write their own. And since then, they branched off to contemporary romance and romantic comedy.

One lives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and the other in the Kansas City area where they’re a sonographerand pharmacist, and they’re a sexy author by night. They communicate through phone, email, and whole lot of messaging.

    Piper's husband dies in a car accident but his friend Nate survives. She struggles to move on but her friendship with Nate helps. However soon she starts to miss and want things that make her feel guilty because she thinks she shouldn't feel this way with her husband being gone. Then one night after being out with friends she goes to Nate and everything changes between them. Nate has been attracted to his friends wife since they became friends after the accident but he has been fighting his attraction so he could be there for her. But when she shows up at his place begging him to take her he can't refuse. Will this have them moving towards some serious? Can they see that they are perfect for each other?

    This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. It has you wanting to cry at parts and laughing out loud at others. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

    This is the first book I've read by this duo and it certainly won't be the last. They write great characters,a well-thought out plot, and smoldering sexy scenes. The characters are relatable and the emotions are realistic. It's hard to write about deep emotions and make the reader feel and this book has all the feels. There is humor, witty sexy banter, great turns, and an nice twist at the end.
    Piper has been a grief-stricken young widow for a year, her only solace her dead husband's best friend, Nate. After a year of friendship and support, Nate unexpectedly stirs her libido. While the idea of moving forward terrifies her, the guilt she feels for wanting a sex life and the loss of Jordan has her being more than cautious.
    Nate has his own guilt. He feels responsible for Jordan's death and takes the promise he made to his dying friend to heart: Take care of Piper. His support cements their friendship, but as time goes on she kicks in feelings that Nate has fought his entire life. Nate carries his own baggage from his past, as well as his player reputation. So they can just be friends with benefits, right? What could go wrong?
    I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to finish this book. I found I could not put it down and I can't wait for another read from R.L. Kenderson

    Meant to Be is the third story within this group of friends and although I haven't yet read Rumor Has It, I did read Friends With Benefits and I loved it. This is a great friends to lovers romance. The book blurb gives an accurate description of the story. Piper and Nate's love story has some hiccups but all in all it's a warm and sexy story with likable characters and I loved it. Looking forward to the next book of the series.

    I just discovered R.L. Kenderson this past year or so and have a fondness for her writing. Nasty was interesting and kept my attention - it actually got better the further along it got. For me personally, it was a lack of feeling between the characters in the beginning....I just didn't feel the strong attraction between the characters, I didn't feel the desire and longing between them, I didn't feel the closeness that was portrayed, etc. I did like that they featured some sexual stuff that I had yet to see mentioned or featured in romance - even in erotica. Definitely a decent read, although I expected it to be a little better.

    This was great well written storyline by R.L. Kenderson I thoroughly enjoyed and would defintely recommend the characters were interesting and captivating they pulled you right into drama.
