R.L. Kenderson is two best friends writing under one name.

Renae has always loved reading, and in third grade, she wrote her first poem where she learned she might have a knack for this writing thing. Lara remembers sneaking her grandmother’s Harlequin novels when she was probably too young to be reading them, and since then, she knew she wanted to write her own.

When they met in college, they bonded over their love of reading and the TV show Charmed. What really spiced up their friendship was when Lara introduced Renae to romance novels. When they discovered their first vampire romance, they knew there would always be a special place in their hearts for paranormal romance. After being unable to find certain storylines and characteristics they wanted to read about in the hundreds of books they consumed, they decided to write their own. And since then, they branched off to contemporary romance and romantic comedy.

One lives in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and the other in the Kansas City area where they’re a sonographerand pharmacist, and they’re a sexy author by night. They communicate through phone, email, and whole lot of messaging.

    I really just wanted to beat the stubborness out of Sawyer and smack some sense into him. Just when you think he will finally give in, he turns into a jerk. And poor poor Kenzie....my heart just kept breaking for her. I was almost in tears and beyond frustrated on her behalf. Even though it took him way too long to figure things out, I'm glad Sawyer did, and what happened to his parents was absolutely horrible. Although even when he finally went to Kenzie to talk things out, I was still 50/50 on whether he was going to move on from his past. But once they got HEA they were too cute, and was beyond thrilled by their news. In this book you also get more of a glimpse into Phoenix and Dante's "friendship" and I am beyond excited and comepletely anxious to see how their relationship develops. They have me completely intrigued, especially with the new villain in play. So didn't see that coming.

    OK, this might be the darkest of these books so far. While still firmly in the paranormal romance genre, there’s real abuse happening in this one.

    We join Kenzie and Sawyer soon after they initiated their escape attempt. If you haven’t read the previous books, you will be way out of your depth here. So much has happened! Kenzie somehow ends up the leader of this escape after Sawyer gets drugged and knocked unconscious. Lucky for her, they are nearby her brother’s house and that seems as good a place as any to lay low for the time being. Things change pretty rapidly, though, when she suddenly finds herself with a friendly and open Sawyer who has no idea who he is, except that he’s her mate.

    This “honeymoon” period was awesome. We finally get to see what Sawyer and Kenzie’s relationship would be without all the baggage. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and his personality cuts over quickly to his usual surly self. Oh, and he’s maybe even more jealous and controlling now. In the background, we also get to what Zane flail about without his reluctant mate, and Dante and Phoenix fight their attraction for one another. The set up for a big bad also added a note of darkness to an already dark story.

    Ultimately, we do find our way to happy, but it is not really as clear cut as I’d have liked. Sawyer is really lucky that Kenzie has a high tolerance for jerks. It took some serious damage before he admitted that he was doing this to both of them. I’m almost a little let down that Kenzie ended up allowing him to control her life like he did. I found myself more eager to see the truly baggage driven relationship of Dante and Phoenix rather than the main characters.

    ** spoiler alert ** He doesn't like humans, she is tired of the back and forth. Both get a taste of what it could be like. What happens when he is forced to make a decision?

    Have to say I loved seeing these two evolve. I loved that she put her foot down and was going to make a decision to help herself instead of putting herself back in pain. I also loved that she accepted his apology when he finally admitted he was wrong. I didn't blame him for not liking the humans, but loved the fact that he was starting to realize, with the help of his friends, what he would be giving up. Good read!

    I have read all three books and can not wait for book four. Book three is about Kenzie and Sawyer as you already know, but it is here you learn about the pain and loss they have and the threat to their lives. I don't want to put spoilers in this review but you learn more about Kenzie, Naya, Vaughn, Saxon, Sawyer, Pheonix and the team that is growing. The working together but the threats that still remain in each species.

    Kenzie and Sawyer are fighting a real battle inside and outside of each other. Reading about their battles will cause tears and you will be right there fighting for them as if you knew them.

    You will really enjoy the story of the large interspecies family. I can't wait for book 4 and more about Pheonix and Dante.

    This is the book I have been waiting for since the beginning of the series. Wow, it was better than I could have imagined! I loved it. The Sawyer and Kenzie's story was absolutely amazing. The other continuing stories in the book were amazing as well. All the characters in this book are fabulous. I love them all. They are well written and you just fall in love with them. While reading this book I experienced so many emotions that it was hard not feel that I wasn't a part of the story. I will tell all my friends about this book. It's a must read.

    The Forbidden series is amazing. Each book riveting and engaging in it’s own right and Forbidden Temptation is no exception. I was completely blown away by Sawyer’s growth in this book. He went from a bitter man filled with anger & hate into a man who learns forgiveness & the understanding that not every person should be tarred with the same brush. The chemistry between him & Kenzie was amazing & their story kept be glued to the pages.

    Kenzie and Sawyer finally get their story and again this is a most enjoyable series with lots of hot sex, loving families, brutal bad guys and different species finding out that differences don't really matter that much. The writing has a lovely flow to it and a connection to the characters is very easy. However as with the second novel I found the building up of the other couple for the next book a real distraction. It would have worked but the misunderstanding between the couples are all too similar and we get reminded of this whilst trying to concentrate on the current couple. This needs attention for the next novel as it does take away from the connection. We find ourselves in the novel reading things we were too prepared for in the previous novel if that makes sense.

    Still a good read!.

    Another excellent read from the Forbidden series from a couple that you just know are meant to be from the very beginning. Sawyer and Kenzie's relationship is not all sunshine and rainbows inspite of their extreme attraction which was very evident from the first book. Sawyer has had an unfortunate relationship with humans but his attraction to the human Kenzie makes it more complicated. When he and Kenzie became a victim of mistaken identity which led to Sawyer losing his memory, Kenzie saw how good they could be together. What happened next was a series of opportunities to be together with Sawyer and yet, still be miles apart from each other. The ups and downs of their relationship was so beautifully written that you can't help but cheer them both on for a happy ending. I would read their story over and over again!
