SCARS Kindle Edition
At least, that’s what I thought.
But you changed all that.
You are always there ... Always watching ... Always waiting in the shadows. You send me flowers and messages. You stalk me, trace my every movement...
Until that one day, in a silly game of Seven Minutes in Heaven, when I finally get to feel you—have a taste of you ...
It left me wanting more.
One catastrophic day, my wish is granted.
Just past my eighteenth birthday, tragedy strikes and I watch my family die before my eyes.
You are there. You rescue me. You choose my life over my older sister’s, and I hate you for that. I hate you for taking me and imprisoning me. You say it’s for my sake, but I know it’s for your own. You make me see that my life could be much worse without you in it...
You make me see true darkness.
It is in that darkness you make me desperate for your presence, your touch, your caress. You make me need you... You make it impossible for me to live without you… And then, eventually…
You make me fall in love with you.
Secrets will always wound the ones twisted within their web of lies... But the ones I’m tangled in ... are deadly.
WARNING: Although this book (overall) is not a dark read, one chapter is an exception, and contains the following triggers: childhood sexual/emotional abuse with some intensity in one particular scene.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis has been one of the best books I have read lately. There were twists that kept you guessing until towards the end, and the story flowed all the way through. I haven't read a plot like this which is REFRESHING! Everything lately is the same same same. 😵 Jaime is a wonderful writer, that uses great editors (for those of you that find this important, mistakes were very minimal). There characters were relatable, although not always what they seemed to be. Once I started I was hooked and read the book straight through. You cannot help but Love J. I cannot wait to read the next book about Charlotte, I hope Jaime continues some of the first couples plot into the second book! 🆒📕
- Reviewed in the United States on July 22, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe only reason this book is missing a star is because of the ending. While yes there is a happy ending, it was not nearly enough considering a) how long this book was and b) how unnecessary and drawn out some scenes were. Also the ending left a slight cliffhanger regarding an issue that better be addressed in a novella or something... All of that aside, I really enjoyed the book. The story had dark and teasing under currant, with splashes of light. Jarrod was truly a scarred individual, while Lily was as pure as they come and together they had a shivering chemistry that burned slow. The storyline was very predictable for me, but not in a bad way. If you're paying attention, you will be able figure things out. There was some passion, violence, tragedy, twists, turns, and then some... I definitely recommend this book and look forward to more from Jaimie Roberts!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseJaimie Roberts is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Each book of hers I pickup, I fall in serious lust with...
When you read the blurb of Scars, you think "oh, yea, this is going to be another of the same type of book." Wrong. I was so wrong and I'm glad I took the time to read it.
Lily has it all. She comes from a good, well off family. Her parents are together and in love. She's close to her sister and they don't want for anything. But Lily always felt a little off...
Enter SMIHG (you'll understand those letters of you read the book) guy. He's mysterious, sexy, smells divine, but he's out for revenge... Can the girl he watches change such a damaged soul?
Whew, my emotions went through the ringer with this book! I both loved and loathed SMIHG. I may have even seriously lusted after him! If you're looking for something fresh, this is the book for you!
There are dark themes and triggers in the book. You've been warned.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThough I did immensely enjoyed the plot of this book, the twists and turns and the characters, I found myself skimming a good portion of the book. Too much unnecessary information causing the book to drag on. Also, I kept waiting for the big reveal but it didn’t come until the very end. In addition, the book ended in a bit of a cliffhanger which I guess will continue in Charlotte’s story( a secondary character). That is kind of disappointing. Would I recommend??? Sure, it was a very good read but just keep in mind it does drag on in some places and it leaves you with a little cliffhanger. I had to rate this book a 3.5.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseLilly and Jarrod.
Could u fall in love with your stalker?
Could you submit willingly to your kidnapper?
Could you offer your innocence to a man in mask?
Could u trust a blind instinct?
If you can then you have to read this book and fly to new dimensions where love knows no boundaries have no scars and most importantly is faceless.
A must Read. Jaimie did it again, a masterpiece with words. I loved the book. 5 well earned stars

This is the first Stalker booker I have read. All I can really say is WOW!!! Jarrod and Lily’s story is so full of suspense, twists and turns it will have you on the edge of your seat. There were a few connections that I was able to pick up earlier in the book, but the real twist hadn’t even come to mind till it was playing out on the pages.
It’s like a dark modern day beauty and the beast...
I don’t want to give away to much of this book as you really need to read it without having read any spoilers as it will ruin the suspense of it. Although having said that this book does contain one chapter that can cause triggers for childhood sexual abuse.
For six months Lily has had a feeling of being watched and has been receiving lilies at her front door ever day. A silly game of Seven Minutes In Heaven, has Lily locked in a bathroom with a stranger which she shares the best kiss she has ever had. But it also leaves Lily with so many questions with no answers.
Jarrod was on a mission of revenge. He had a plan to get it but never expected to fall for her. When his plan backfires, he has no choice but to be honest. The pain, guilt and scars he has had to carry will make you fall more in love with him, if you hadn’t already.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI absolutely loved this book because it was different from the norm. So I'm glad the author went with her muse on this one. This author has very quickly become a huge favorite of mine. You left us with some questions at the end like the most important....what was in the bag she got from the drug store she kept putting off. Hopefully this questions and others will be answered in Charlotte/Christine's book or a novella to answer those questions.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2016Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAs always Jamie Roberts exceeds my expectations. I have a love/hate relationship with her endings. She ended exactly where it needs to but I always wonder about after. If she ended them any differently I would never have picked up another book by her. I laugh, I cry, my heart breaks, and then I cry from joy. Every books she writes she becomes a better author and I thought she was pretty great to begin with.

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI loved this book from beginning to end. I know Jarrod was a stalker but how could you not fall in love with him? Jarrod and Lily are just two beautiful souls and that’s what I loved most about this story.

Format: KindleVerified Purchase"Time's up, beautiful" I just want to cry, I don't want it to be over. I want more, so much more. I know an Author jumps for joy when they type 'The End' but as a reader, I didn't want to get to the end. I could have read on and on and on. The story was so intense, I was on the edge of my seat. I literally had no clue as to what the outcome would be. Usually I can see what is going to happen or at least have an idea, but not even an inkling this time. High five Jaimie Roberts for keeping the mystery not only exciting but concealed till the time was most definitely right and my curiosity at an all time high.
Lily is a young lady with her whole life ahead of her. She's a beautiful girl with a good heart, maybe a little to trusting, but who can grow through life without making mistakes. Life is a constant lesson, we learn as we grow. Lily has a great bunch of friends around her, most of them anyways, there is always one that messes up.
When Lily believes she has a secret admirer, she doesn't confide in anyone, not even her closest friends. It's scary and exciting all at the same time. The admirer or stalker, whatever you want to call him because in this story he has no name to begin with, so I am not giving that out. He's sweet but dangerous, he's sexy but scarred, he's thoughtful but scary, he's masterful but intense. Oh yeah, he's got it all going on. Honestly through the story I was thinking, Oh My God!! Who does that? and Jesus! I hope no one actually tries this for real. You know when your children watch stunts on television and the narrator tells them 'do not try this at home' well, this is fiction people, the events, scenes that take place in this book should never be copied. It's against the law to stalk someone.
The secrets that are revealed will leave you stunned for sure. I just couldn't believe it. My mind was in a whirl, my heart beat was pounding, I thought it was going to pop through my chest. I won't lie, I was apprehensive about reading this book because dark reads are just not my thing, but it's not dark like that. It has a part in this book that will turn your stomach for sure but you will want to continue reading.
This is one of those books that I hope everyone reads. You will be taken on the most exciting and intense journey. For now my time is up. I am off to seek other books out by this Author.

liciaReviewed in Italy on August 30, 20163.0 out of 5 stars Too long for what it has to say
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseIt took me a while to read this story, a while to feel involved and interested. There are few similarities with Deviant, but to me it resembles more to Debt by Nina Jones, and I must say I’ve found that the latter has been better developed, with a more interesting structure and pace.
The main point to both the stories is basically the same but in Debt all the other elements making up the story are for some reason more effective. Simple but very, very good.
In Scars I’m afraid I felt like the story is a little bit of a mess. I could sense the true role of some characters at an early stage. Furthermore, all the teenage chatting and high school stuff is not something that I care of much and sometimes bored me to tears. There’s also a sugary undertone that’s not really my thing.
Overall it was not bad, but there's something missing to be more than that to me.

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe plot was good and I like Jarrod’s character. There were just too many conversations with side characters that bores me so I have to skip pages and also I am not satisfied with the ending. Too many questions in my mind that hasn’t been answered as well.
