A Brother At My Back (The Sacred Hearts MC Book 13) Kindle Edition
Instead of going to the law like she had in the past, she went to the Sacred Hearts MC, a club that had a reputation for bloodshed and violence, a club that didn’t let the rules and regulations of society dictate how they handled grievances.
Zeb joined the Sacred Hearts MC looking for a second chance, something he wasn’t sure he deserved or could find. He’s determined to do right by his found family, and for himself by changing his ways. When the club’s president asks him for help, he doesn’t hesitate to jump in. He’s more than happy to give the pretty stripper with the scarred face a second chance of her own. After all, she’s a survivor like him.
Neither Tiff nor Zeb expected this protective detail to be anything other than business as usual, but the two quickly realize that they compliment each other in just about every way. But they can’t become complacent, or the trouble they’ve been keeping ahead of might catch up, and the damage could be more than either of them can handle.

- Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2021Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAwesome awesome Thank you for a great job writing. They really found true love. Zeb truly understood why she had the job dancing & had turned tricks a few times. She was cruelly cut the whole side of her face by a cruel rodeo star. So glad he is gone !
- Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchasePretty good, this one gave me a little bit of insight into Dragon the Prez but it took me to the actual story of the main characters. Two individuals doing whatever it takes to survive in their mess up world, this is a really sad and emotional book, but you will love it.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI really like Zeb. He is a shy laid back guy. He's really good to and for Tiff. This was way better than Datas book. I liked how Zeb talked with his Kiwi phrases and words. I just wished it ended different. It was like a cloud hanger. What happened when they went back to his New Zealand and did they come back. Looking forward to Dragon' s book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis was a fabulous story! The story was well written and very well portrayed as believable. Loved how we see more of the other characters from past and of course the more insight into Dragon. Great realistic feelings we see in Zeb which is nice to see both points of view.. loved it!.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 11, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love this entire series!! All of the characters are so fleshed out that you really feel like you know them. It’s easy to become invested in the lives of the club members! Ms. Downey’s skill as a writer shines brighter with each installment!! Keep ‘em coming A.J. !!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 21, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseMuch better than book 5. This definitely had a lot more going on, though some parts dragged and this author has a penchant for being extremely repetitive, this was still an enjoyable and sad read.
Tiffany was pretty cool. At first she seems a bit standoffish but I guess that’s due to her violent past and choice of careers, which by the way shouldn’t be a negative thing. You do what you need to survive, just because it’s not your standard nine to five doesn’t mean you aren’t human. Judging people because of something as simple as dancing, is despicably wrong. Even her extra activities should not be a reason to condone what some psycho did to her.
Nik/Zeb was okay. Very low key..not much more to say about him.
I didn’t like how the book ended, sort of up in the air with Nik’s family, but at least Tiffany and his romantic story was finished..
- Reviewed in the United States on September 17, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseZek & Tiff’s story is a hard one, she hides her scars behind her hair, he tells her she is beautiful because of her scars. She’s a survivor. We all hide scars wether they are on the skin or on the inside. I like how this story shows us how they work through trauma.

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI love MC books for one undeniable reason, freedom. The freedom of enjoying a book where the taboo‘s are few. Where Riddick type bad guys are shown as who they really are, killers, yes but also men of honour, an old west type of honour where the saloon girls are accepted as women doing what they must to survive. Love that Zeb got that and still loved his Tiffany whole heartedly.

Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTiffany has lived a extremely hard life, but she doesnt let that stop her.
Zeb is a brother with a very shady past.
When Tiffanys violent ex is released from prison early she turns to the one man who has showed her kindness, Dragon, Sacred Hearts president.
He assigns Zeb on protection detail.
Can do damaged souls find a way to heal and be together or are they doomed to be broken for the rest of their lives.
AJ has done an amazing work with this book and I cant wait for the next one

Format: KindleVerified PurchasePretty good story like always only downfall would be that some of the slang words used by Zeb is not true to us kiwis. Would love to know who gave you the information on slang used because it’s an epic fail, still a bloody good book will still purchase to add to the set
