Above Suspicion ; The True Story of Russell Williams Serial Killer Kindle Edition

3.2 out of 5 stars (254)

Young girl's panties started to go missing; sexual assaults began to occur, and then female bodies were found! Soon this quiet town of Tweed, Ontario, was in panic. What's even more shocking was when an upstanding resident stood accused of the assaults. This was not just any man, but a pillar of the community; a decorated military pilot who had flown Canadian Forces VIP aircraft for dignitaries such as the Queen of England, Prince Philip, the governor general, and prime minister of Canada.

This is the story of serial killer Russell Williams, the elite pilot of Canada's Air Force One, and the innocent victims he murdered. Unlike other serial killers, Williams seemed very unaffected about his crimes and leading two different lives.

Alan R. Warren describes the secret life including the abductions, rape, and murders that were unleashed on an unsuspecting community. Included are letters written to the victims by Williams and descriptions of the assaults and rapes as seen on videos and photos taken by Williams during the attacks.

I found the story Above Suspicion to be well written and informative. It's hard to believe that Col. Russell Williams was such a deranged lunatic at night and able to hold his high level Air Force job during the day. I wonder how many additional crimes he was guilty of but that someone else went to prison for? Plea-bargaining essentially ended the case, but, the question remains why did he commit those crimes? I also wonder whether the wife was truly innocent relating to knowledge of his crimes because of the number of panties and other female articles that he left around the house. Granted she was only at the house on weekends but still. This is an excellent read for anyone into chew crime stories.

It is hard to fathom that someone whom has even piloted the Queen of England could commit such heinous crimes as ex-Colonel Russell Williams had. The book shows how Russell Williams broke into women's homes, raped them and posed in pictures with the victims' lingerie. The book includes photos as well as written letters by Williams. The author did a great job keeping me interested in the story. I highly suggest this book to anyone who reads true crime.

Could have been more detailed. Anyone could have written this story as it is not very detailed at all. Writing was good within itself just needed to have more of the story.

I felt like a fool when this 92-page piece of nothingness arrived by mail. This is not a proper book, it's some kind of badly written report by a guy who read a book about this crime or who just watched a crime show about the topic. I find it hard to believe that Amazon would carry amateuristic 'books' like this at all. I had no forewarning whatsoever that this was not a proper book. Had I known it, I would have never bought it. I threw it in the bin, that's where it belongs.

I read ABOVE SUSPICION by Alan Warren as a Kindle Unlimited selection, and it is a disappointing read.

The writing, itself, is okay, but the delivery is confusing and lacking in cohesiveness. For example, the book starts talking about a victim's funeral taking place while Russell Williams is being interrogated. Yet the storyline doesn't even have him on police radar yet.

Also, admittedly there are many sources to this story who wouldn't divulge details--including William's wife. However, there are a lot of details I looked up on the internet and/or figured out for myself such as date of marriage, how old William's was as crimes unfolded, details of crimes besides the murders, etc. As the number of pages a book includes is usually a sign of the strength of the material, I hunted for that information as well. It is only 110 pages, which explains a lot. I knew more about why Williams tires helped catch him than were revealed in the book. Here again, it demonstrates a lack of research on behalf of the writer.

This story is a very compelling one due to the murderer's background. and length of time he went undetected. I was initially concerned it would scare or disturb me to read thhe book. However, tere's no jeopardy of that. The book simply doesn't didn't lend itself to the truly frightening nature off William's crimes. This is a sign of an unskilled true crime writer. Yet the sole reason I have given this book two stars instead of one is that it contains a some details I've never heard about this case.

I enjoyed the Book. However, I wished the book were a little longer then it was.

Shocking true story of crimes committed by someone thought to be above suspicion for such terrible acts. This story told in this book is truly "a frightening reminder of the unpredictability of human behavior." A must read for true crime genre.

Very well-written and entertaining. Factual true crime at its best.

If you love a true story then this is a must - the journey of a man's actions that led him to murder innocents. Never read this author before but now I am on a journey through his other works. Tells a story so well.

It was too short of a book . But I had already read the paperback addition some time ago and was familiar with the case.

1.0 out of 5 stars The paper quality is so poor the photographs are blurred and pretty worthless

A very thin book indeed. Just over 100 pages in 16 point font. The paper quality is so poor the photographs are blurred and pretty worthless. If you are looking for an in-depth, well-researched book, don’t bother buying this. It’s just not worth the money.
