Drama, drama! (In more ways than one!)
Sooooo.... mentioned in a previos entry how Drama teacher had a go at me.....
Basically, at the end of one of the pieces, i had to do, and I quote from the script, ' Marie stands still for a frozen moment, then she screams, a great howl of pain and loss.' . Well, after the exam, the drama teacher told me she was angry that I had 'added' this in, and especially without asking her. 'It completely contradicts that character of Marie'. I pointed out that it was in the script, but she didn't believe me, and accused me for the second time of not reading the script. (I've read the entire play twice, and my extract countless times.) The particularly ironic thing was that I had actually done the scream in rehearsal, and she hadn't objected then.
So, yesterday, she called me over to have a 'chat' (reda 'lecture-come-row). Basically I'm arrogant because I 'invented' this scream, I ruined the whole exam, and the performance we did in November, I should have justification for my actions, I have not read the play, my parents said 'blah blah blah' (Which interestingly, when I mentioned it to them, they didn't remember saying at all), etc etc. She's told me numerous times I'm going to fail (also ironic, as I've now passed the acting, and I'm top of the class, and have passed all my assessments, which some peeps still haven't.) Anyway, that's the jist of things.... Oh yeah, she also told me 'I'd made myself an enemy.'
I couldn't decide whether to cry or slap her. I somehow managed to do neither.
