WHOA! First day of Duke Of Edinburgh training today, from 8:30 - 4, and I'm SHATTERED!!! We did hiking, mapreading, compass work, first aid, and looking for a (non-existant!)baker's shop for lunch! All, of course, in pouring rain and gale-force winds.... Oh, and we climbed Arthur's Seat, and 'team-building' games, all of which seemed to involve runnig, carrying people, and putting various exposed body parts (ie cheek, ear) on the muddy ground... I may have cheated slightly.... Oh, and it was especially fun, because we did Pointe work in ballet yesterday, and for the first time in aaaaages my toes bled, so I now have huge gashes on four of my toes.... still, at least I now have the bloodtains inside the pointe shoes to tell me which shoe goes on which foot!
