So, back from my Uni visits to Glasgow and Strathclyde, and I'd be interested to hear what everyone else thought, but here are my opinions:
* Strathclyde was pretty impressive, it seemed very well organised. Glasgow wasn't so well organised - we got abandoned by some guides outside one of the student flats.
*Strathclyde is right in the centre of Glasgow, really handy for trains and buses to Edinburgh. All the Uni buildings and the accomodation are in the same few blocks, so it's pretty enclosed and handy. Glasgow is harder to get to, but not too much. It's also pretty central.
*The Strathclyde builings are okay, but not brilliant. The main Glasgow building is lovely - all old-fashioned, with two quadrangles surrounded by this huge, stone building, which has corridors which are half inside, half outside - it's slightly like Hogwarts.
* The Strathclyde accomodation we saw was the miost basic there is, and it's not bad - shared flats, with private bedrooms, which all have phones and data points. They're all close to the Uni, just near some shops as well. The Glasgow rooms are more expensive, more basic, and in the middle of nowhere. They have even less facilities.
*The course at Strathclyde (Journalism and Creative Writing) is exactly what I wanted, but the choice of subjects to do in conjunction is not so good. At Glasgow, there are lots of cool courses (Classics, Philosophy) that you can do, but no Creative Writing, only Eng Lit.
*strokes chin* hmmmmm......
