Looking for SPamber!!

Does anyone here know SPamber from the Bpal forums (or Amber - are you here????)

I'm in the middle of a swap with her and she has been super super nice to me - she sent her end out this morning - I'm supposed to send mine out tomorrow but I saved her address in my inbox on the Bpal.org forum and it's DOWN! Hence I'm missing her address. So if anyone has an email address or ANY way for me to reach Amber that would be wonderful!

Thanks in advance!!!

I can refund your money through paypal if you want because it looks like they are lost in our wonderful postal system. Or I can send another package out tomorrow with delivery confirmation. Please let me know okay? I am really sorry about this and would like to make it up to you.

Renee

Real quickly, can someone tell me if there is a huge difference between Samhain 2004 & 2005? And what are the differences? I got an imp of Samhain 04 last August and hated it then...now I am in LOVE with it! And I know it is harder to find. Thanks!

ETA: I would like to buy a bottle of Litha for what its based on, but from the notes am unsure of it. Anyone want to buy half of the bottle from me? I have tiny little amber bottles I could decant it into when I get it.
I've only been here a few months, but this community has meant a lot to me in that brief time.

Some of you have heard me mention working a lot. I put in 80+ hours a week at my home computer as a medical transcriptionist and will be doing so until September/October-ish. It's hard work, and the hours I keep mean that I rarely leave my house and hardly ever see my friends.

Granted, I'm saving towards an important goal, I know there's an end in sight, and I can take heart in seeing my progress. I can work with cheer and determination, knowing that, but sometimes I feel exhausted and lonesome nonetheless.

Reading posts, swapping imps, getting new smellies and little treats and seeing the bit of joy that my own packages provide - it's a small distraction, but one I've come to treasure. (Hell, going to the post office gets me to actually leave my house!)

I love that BPAL descriptions have introduced me to new and wonderful works of literature (I had never read Baudelaire until BPAL). I love that both BPAL and the community/forum members are so open to other faiths and traditions; I love that the loa have as many imps as I do now! I love that I have imps for different moods, purposes, and rituals. I especially love that several BPAL scents have helped me in my composition work (two so far, Kostnice and City in the Sea, have their own songs :) ), and have helped me de-stress and sleep a little better.

And I love that BPAL just smells so damn good. :P

So, thanks for filling the long hours with smiles and scents, and I'll see you all on sinandsalvation. :)

Wotta great community!

*pokes her nose in and peers around* I thought this would be an appropriate time to express my gratitude and love for this wonderful community. I feel sad that it's coming to a close, but I know we'll all move on to new BPAL adventures elsewhere :) I've only been around since August, which doesn't seem so long, until I realize it's almost August again.

Our BPAL family rocks. Sure we've had our ups and downs, but who doesn't? You've probably heard me ramble about this before, but I have been so pleased to find a community comprised of smart, creative, and gracious individuals. (There's a whole backstory that goes with it, ask me and I'll tell you about it sometime.) All the other fandoms I ever belonged to before were really tiresome and immature and this was the first one I found where I really fit into the community and was welcomed and embraced. I've made some great friends.

And a big thanks to everyone who donated to my fundraisers for the Autism Walk (NAAR) and Relay for Life (ACS). It's good to know BPALers care about social issues and events too. Immense thanks to everyone who put up with my sales delays and buttons falling off cozies and all the craziness that came with me trying to do BPAL + school.

Mad props to Beth and the Lab Gang, of course - who woulda thunk that perfume would inspire so many people and would bring us all together the way it has? Three cheers for the great place alchemylab has been!

my one-year anniversary on LJ will be/wudda been June 30. what a fun, funny, freaky, funky, flat out fantabulous almost-year it's been. and what a shame that a member picks today to accuse me of lying, our last day here together. [a first for me.] and how ironic that it's the same person who placed a big ass order when i had my first sale, then neither paid nor responded to my reminders. drama, get thee behind me!

i've laughed out loud at our more outrageous members, teared up over sick puppy-cats, coveted puppies and kittens, mourned that Beth has been made to distance her company from us [both kinds of company], marveled at the creations of crafty members: icons/avatars [thanks for the wonderful New Orleans icons, Penance], photographs, jewelry and beautiful hand-decorated boxes, empathized with owners of uncooperative cars, went a little nuts during the post-Katrina horror-show, felt touched and grateful at some of the treats you lovely, mostly ladies have included in my orders. you've made my kitchen the destination of choice for tea among my friends and neighbors. ["Ooooh! Can I have Licorice Mint?"]

hope to see you all on the other side.

My buyers/swappers, before this lovely community shuts its doors for good. Thanks to everyone who weathered the great spreadsheet corruption of 06. With email records and LJ comments, I think I have everything on its way to new homes. If you're waiting on something from me (either a swap or a purchase) and have not received a DC# via email, please drop me a line at dimensia @ gmail.com. Also, feel free to do that if you have a bottle of Jacob's Ladder or an imp of Cold Moon you can part with. *cough*

Still have a few things on my ISO list that I'm swapping rares to get my hands on. The list will migrate to the new community once I know everyone has their goodies in hand or on the way from the last wave.

It was wonderful to be here. I struck up some great friendships, and found blends that had been eluding me. Hopefully that will continue beyond the demise of alchemylab.
Last chance for silly questions...

So I thought I'd ask one that's been on my mind, and I feel like I should probably know the answer, but don't. :)

The TAL site still says the items offered currently are a preview of the site. Is there any current estimate as to the date of "the site's official inception"? Thanks for any light you can shed on my confusion.

In other news...it's been a lovely ride, from the new friendships to the new oils to things like the Katrina Auctions, which made me so very proud to be a part of this community. Thank you to everyone I've met here, and thank you to Beth for everything, including giving us such a great place to play, for all the time that she could do so.

See you all at sinandsalvation. :)

I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all of the sellers I received packages from this week. I got Holiday Moon (which I love to bits and am currently wearing; it's so nice & sweet & mellow), Snow Moon, and Anne Bonney! I've received at least a dozen packages in the last two weeks since my BPAL obsession began and they've all just been awesome, so thank you thank you to everyone. I can't even remember who everyone is, I've gotten so many and everything has been so well-packaged & has made it here safe & quick. I've received at least 60 imps & four 5ml bottles since I've started buying BPAL in the last month and I still can't get enough.

To anyone awaiting an imp package from me, yours will be shipped tomorrow after I get off work and should arrive this weekend or early next week. Sorry for the delay with the Monday holiday being thrown in there.

See you all on the other side at the new comm. :)

Testimonials and Thank-Yous....

I saw the group hug and the streaking(1), but I wondered if we needed some sort of last-day "testimonial"(2) post. You know, a place to offer good vibes to Beth, the Lab, the Mods and each other for the hard work, good times, and noses(3)?

They have my thanks, gratitude and respect for this crazy ride. It couldn't have been easy, but in time I hope there will be more fun remembered than anything else. ♥

Please feel free to add your own comment if you are so inclined(4).

love, lore

1 Shay has a nice tushy, doesn't she? Colere, you need to get that looked at. ;)
2 Memorial sounds too much like someone died, don'tchaknow? Testify, sistahs and brothers!
3 i.e. Love of all things smelly, like us!
4 In other words - feel free to jump right in!

Last Day - Lov efo rthe Bpal~

I have a whole new appreciation for BPAl as I settle into this new job at Microsoft ...

For those of you that might've pondered, I made it to Washington state from Texas relatively saf eand sound (3.5 days in a car for 8+ hours with cat and in tight mountain passes...) other than my alternator belt SHREDDING inthe middl eof nowhere New Mexico - an dmy mechanic in Dallas told me everythig was fine. Oh they BETTER BE GLAD they'r e2100 miles away. As it is, theyr'e sending me happy follow up service emails, adn theyr'e receiving ACID REPLIES. I todl them I was driving cross country, insisted they check the belts - that's part of a service anyway, paid $1600 for a window fix, a transmission clean, and a new fuel injection system (car was stalling)...

I get to Wyoming to see my uncle - he opens the hood of my car (he does all his own maintenance on his vehicle, he's such a good guy, he used to drive big rigs) adn pulls otu my air filter - which was "replaced". It's BLACK. *HISS* I sent my mom home with the "new" air filte rand shredded belt in her luggage so she can have a "TALK" with the mechanic.

Anyway.. I digress ^^; I'm here, I'm moved in, I'm lonely and a little freaked out at beign so far away from peopel I love, someone in the seattle area rescue me and take me to the LUSH store and teach me the LUSH ways...

And as Microsoft is like.. 70% male.. and they're hardcore nerds.. some of them.. hav ea serious need to bathe (thankfully not my officemate, he's a sweet little Taiwanese guy that goes out of his way to help me and I just want to squidge him to death). Sometimes I walk by a guy and go O_@;

So my scent locket will be a HAPPY HAPPY thing here. Scent locket + Berenice = bliss.

I ahve missed you my BPAL friends \o.o/ I will follow to whatever Comm we migrate to and help herd the cats

Wanted: TAL Wealthy Business

Found, and very fast! :D

<s>I'm selling prints at a con art show next weekend, and it just occurred to me that an imp of the TAL Wealthy Business might be just the thing. :) I don't have a whole lot to swap at the moment, since my to-be-tried box is a whole lot more full than the swap/sell box at the moment (Maelstrom imps and an imp of the Pumpkin Patch with sandalwood that I got as a frimp yesterday), but I've got non-CC Paypal.

The only catch is that I need to receive it by next Wednesday - I leave for the con on Thursday morning.</s>

BPAL discounts at my store!

Before the comm closes, I wanted to pimp out my store, The Solardust Emporium. I make beaded jewelry and sell other handmade products, like bath/body/beauty items and other gifts and fun accessories.

Because I am in love with BPAL and am having an awesome time participating in "fandom" activities, I've decided to run a special promo for BPAL fans.

If you order from my store, and put in coupon code BPAL when you place your order, you will receive an additional 5% off! I already discount your shipping price by 5% of your order price, so it's like getting a total of 10% off your order, INCLUDING shipping!

This is just my personal way to thank all of you for being awesome. I've had some great experiences with this community and wanted to give back somehow!

~ Karen Z.
