Public comments are due for Fish Creek Trail by Wednesday. This is for the Municipality’s Urban Design Commission (UDC). Assuming we get UDC approval, the Fish Creek/Coastal Trail connection is on track to be in construction as early as next summer.
The Legislature reached the 90th day of session last week, marking the beginning of the end for bills still moving through the committee process. My office had five bill hearings this week as we continue to push toward the finish line.
It is day 95 of the legislative session. We have 25 days left in the 120-day session.
It was a busy week on the House floor. This morning we passed another resolution extending the disaster declaration for the 2025 West Coast Storm for 30 more days

Happy Spring! It has been a busy couple of budget weeks. I’ll share a budget synopsis and share some of the other news about bills making their way through committees.
These weeks are increasingly full as our House floor sessions and committees continue, and we’re focused on getting as much done as possible before this second session ends.
This week the House passed the Operating Budget. I am pleased with the outcome.
It is fiscally responsible and funds our schools, public safety, early childhood programs, disaster relief, transportation and so much else.
