Episode 1: The Day of the Beginning

The episode opens with a battle between two figures. Fast forwarded by 10 years, is an introduction of the battle that is about to begin - the time has come for 7 magicians, together with their "servants", to battle against each other for the one and only Holy Grail.
Next in the scene is Emiya Shirou, a boy who is living alone in the mansion that he inherited from his stepfather. Even since the death of his stepfather, Fujimura-sensei has being his guardian, while Matou Sakura started helping him with his chore since his injury a year ago. As the story continues, we learnt that Shirou knows the existance of magic, but is a very lousy magician himself. His only skill is to be able to examine the internal mechanism of an object just by touching it.
Just before the episode ends, Archer revealed to his master, Tohsaka Rin, that something big is going to happen in the city soon...

Compared with the Curtain Raiser (prologue), this episode is pretty boring, as the whole episode is spent on introducing the characters. Hopefully, the next episode will be more exciting, though there's a high chance that it will be another characters introduction. On a side note, I have never played the original Fate/stay night H-game before. Hence my comments are purely based on the anime only.
