Together, we are building a just climate future for all.

Across the country, communities on the frontlines of climate change and toxic pollution are leading the way toward a cleaner and healthier future for all.

The Platform for a Just Climate, a project of the Center for Earth, Energy & Democracy (CEED), is a national coalition working to build power for environmental justice with frontline communities and the organizations supporting them.

The Platform for a Just Climate (formerly known as the Equitable & Just National Climate Platform/EJNCP) works to ensure those most harmed by climate change and the fossil fuel economy can actively participate in developing, winning, and implementing environmental policies that address community needs. Together, we hold a commitment to advocate for:

  • A healthy climate with clean air and water for all
  • Access to affordable, pollution-free electricity, transportation and housing
  • A just and equitable clean energy economy with high-quality jobs

Still Here, Still United, Still Resisting

Reclaiming the Narrative One Year After Trump's Assault on Environmental Justice

From day one, the Trump administration launched an all-out assault on Environmental Justice, unleashing corporate polluters’ toxic agenda on our communities. The administration attacked the endangerment finding rolled back virtually all environmental justice policies and investments.

We know that corporate polluters and their allies in Congress and the White House will not succeed in silencing our movement or winning their toxic agenda in the long term. Because we are still here, still united, still leading & still resisting.

On January 20, join us as we speak out together across the country, united by a shared narrative. Together, we will share the impacts of these rollbacks one year on and disrupt the administration’s dehumanizing narratives by telling the truth about environmental justice. Learn more »

Read Our Platform

The Platform for a Just Climate (formerly known as Equitable & Just National Climate Platform/EJNCP) refers both to our founding document declaring our collective policy agenda for a just and equitable climate future, and our national coalition working to advance this agenda. This Platform was launched by Center for Earth, Energy and Democracy (CEED), the Center for American Progress (CAP), and NRDC and co-created with a coalition of environmental justice and national organizations in October 2018. Our Platform is being relaunched in 2026 with new illustrations by artist Lynda Grafito:

“We find that working together as a collective on a national basis through the Platform for a Just Climate is a powerful mechanism to get a lot of the necessary work done.”

Meet Our Coalition

The Platform for a Just Climate (formerly known as Equitable & Just National Climate Platform/EJNCP) is a national coalition that was formed in 2018 to address the historic exclusion of environmental justice groups from national climate change policy discourse. Environmental justice groups and national environmental organizations from across the country united around a shared commitment to ending the environmental racism that has left economically disadvantaged communities, Indigenous communities, Black communities, and communities of color exposed to disproportionate levels of toxic pollution and bearing the brunt of the climate crisis.

National Environmental Coalition Members

“The Platform for a Just Climate came together through the hard work of a lot of undersung, grassroots frontline groups and we want to be able to do what we can to contribute to a just climate future for our communities...”

— Taylor Thomas, Coalition Member, East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice

Platform Signatories

Led by our 18 core coalition members, the Platform for a Just Climate (formerly known as Equitable & Just National Climate Platform/EJNCP) has been signed on to by our network of over 300 organizations across the country. Join Us in Building the Future We All Deserve

Center for Earth, Energy & Democracy (CEED) is the co-founder, convener, and organizational hub of the Platform for a Just Climate (formerly known as Equitable and Just National Climate Platform/EJNCP). We foster alignment, work through historical disagreements, and coordinate a shared approach among a diverse set of environmental justice and national environmental groups.

Your support defends hard-won environmental justice progress and advances:

  • Safe, health communities and air quality for all
  • Access to reliable, affordable, and sustainable electricity, water, and transportation for every community
  • An inclusive, just, and pollution-free energy economy with high-quality jobs

Your Support Powers a National Movement

The Platform for a Just Climate is the only national coalition uniting grassroots environmental justice groups and national climate organizations to co-create just, equitable climate policy.

Your support helps CEED to:

  • Defend past wins that fund local clean energy and pollution reduction projects.
  • Amplify the voices of frontline leaders shaping national climate policy.
  • Expand funding to support EJ organizations nationwide.
  • Build narrative power that centers communities, justice, and collective action.

The fight for climate justice is at a turning point. Federal investments in clean energy and environmental justice are making a real difference, but many of these gains are under threat. The Just Climate Platform defends this progress while building the foundation for the just climate future our communities deserve.

Your donation helps ensure that the people most impacted by climate change remain at the center of every national solution. Join us to fight for a future where everyone has access to safe, clean, pollution-free communities and economies.
