I never imagined I'd say this, but I actually WANT to see a Stephanie Meyer movie. But it's not Twilight-verse! The trailer for The Host actually looked pretty good for a futuresque romance story.

Finally read Avengers: Children's Crusade... Now I'm on a YA kick because Teddy/Billy is adorable and canon and so fluffy is makes my teeth hurt. Of course, this means going and reading all the YA fic I can find. >_> <_<

Also: I just saw the promotions for Arrow. I am... not sure I want to watch it but wasn't Smallville made by CW too? And that was a hit (though I haven't seen it) so maybe this'll be good.

And I need to watch s2 of Teen Wolf because that shit is EVERYWHERE and Derek Hale is fucking hot and kaciart is drawing Sterek fanart now and and and. Ugh. Crystallllll. We need to marathon Teen Wolf. FIND US A TEEN WOLF DRINKING GAME.

so. I think I may start reading Young Avengers fic. Because there's not enough in my other fandoms and Teddy/Billy are adorable.

Also, Queercontent on tumblr has done terrible things to me, and now I'm like, DETERMINED to look up/read the comics that were listed in one of their posts. Because canon LGBT characters are awesome. I think I'll start off with DCU though, because there's only like, 2 major series for the DC universe (which is a shammmme) but hey, the two that they are, they're main characters! (aka Kate Kane!Batwoman, and Apollo/Midnighter from Stormwatch) ... and I can start myself off with New 52 which makes everything easier. Kind of. Comics always end up all intertwined, and Stormwatch touches on Superman and Grifter within 6 issues, so I have to catch up on those series too, because I'm obsessive like that, and it's just a huge mess~~

So, after being gone for so long, and the fact that I kinda sorta cleared out WAY too many fandoms for my perferred reading choices in my absence, I've been considering getting involved in iconning and graphics again. So I went to take a look at anime20in20, just for curiousity's sake and now I'm annoyed because either I'm blind and it was allowed before, or the rules have been relaxed because now fanart icons are allowed (with credit, of course), which just seems... ugh to me. And I get that the owner/mods want to advertise and get more people participating but there's a ton of ads for other contest comms and I'm just all :[[[

Maybe I'm being an elitist but it's just so irritatinggggg. IDK. I think I'm going backwards in fandom anyways-- I have an urge to look into big name old school series, just for the hell of it. ATM, the line up would be Sailormoon, Gundam Wing, Kenshin, Slayers, Evangelion, and lesser known but still classics, Utena and Weiss Kreuz. I have Gravitation too, but ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I really don't think I could stand late 90's stereotypical seme/uke dynamics. Gay anime fanworks are just so over the top in my opinion, that I try to keep my distance from it on FF.Net. Not that it's hard-- in terms of 'pure' fandom, most of the yaoi content is modern day AU, which I hate with a passion. Crossovers (of the Harry Potter variety in particular), are a whole 'nother ball game.

... And somehow this turned into a rant on how the quality of yaoi fics is apparently sub par to what I've gotten used to after my most recent fandoms. Oi vey.

so, long time no post, am i right?

no internet at home. havent had internet at home for like, 6 months now. I think I've gotten kinda used to it. My Kindle's getting a work out, though.

Bought a new mp3 yesterday, cause my cheap $30 2GB one stopped playing audio-- the device still turns on and all, but the audio jack is fubar. Got a 4GB for $20 at Wal-Mart... Spent like, 3 hours last night fussing with it cause the damn thing would freeze winamp or the file transfer (when I tried to load it directly) after accepting like, 4 files. Then when I went to take a look at the preloaded "games" on it, it... now won't load. Turn it on, it says starting, then screen goes dark for a sec, then the starting screen comes back. Ad nauseam. Oi vey. ~_~ And I can't find shit on the company's website and their tech support isn't open weekends. I'll probably see if Walmart will take it back as defective. Srsly. Their advice for not being able to load the thing? 'Format the device.' NO BUENO, FOLKS.

So, now I'm listening to remixed FF7 music from my flash drive, and trying to restrain the urge to throw the damn mp3 player at a wall.

At least the new earbuds I picked up work awesome.
