				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TAF funded $230,000 in grants and awards in 2025.  These are detailed under Funded Studies .</p>
<p>In March, at the AAOS meeting in San Diego, TAF met with representatives from our collaboration partners OREF, AOSSM, and also met with AAOS to discuss our commitment and activities for 2025.</p>
<p>In March, TAF held its’ Annual Meeting and discussed funding and the election of Board and Officers for 2025.</p>
<p>In April, TAF met with AOSSM in Rosemont to discuss 2024 research grants for 2024 and how the Playmaker would be conducted at the AOSSM annual meeting.</p>
<p>In July, TAF attended the AOSSM meeting in Nashville.  Discussions were held with the Research Committee re future grants; and TAF attended the Playmaker Event where two grantees were selected.</p>
<p>In September, TAF was advised that Alie Hunter, was selected to receive the TAF sponsored scholarship at Duke, under the  Faegin Leadership program.</p>
<p>In October, OTA advised TAF as to the new grantee selected at the OTA research meeting in September.</p>
<p>Also in October, TAF met with AOSSM to discuss 2025 awards and 2026 possibilities.</p>
<p>In October, TAF attended (by zoom), the AOSSM 2025 Corporate Advisory Group meeting.</p>
<p>In November, TAF met with the Rush study group re additional funding.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>TAF funded $775,000 in grants and awards in 2024.  These are detailed under Funded Studies .</p>
<p>In January, TAF prepaid $500,000 to OREF to complete the TAF funding obligation under its endowment agreement with OREF.</p>
<p>In February, at the AAOS meeting in San Francisco, TAF met with representatives from our collaboration partners OREF, AOSSM, and also met with AAOS to discuss our commitment and activities for 2024.</p>
<p>In March, TAF held its’ Annual Meeting and discussed funding and election of Board and Officers for 2025.</p>

<p>In May, OLC provided TAF with a prototype scrub bearing the TAF logo, which TAF approved.</p>

<p>In September, TAF was advised that Tariq M. Omer, was selected to receive the TAF sponsored scholarship at Duke, under the  Faegin Leadership program.</p>
<p>In October, OTA advised TAF as to the new grantee selected at the OTA research meeting in September.</p>
<p>Also in October, TAF met with AOSSM to discuss 2024 awards and 2025 possibilities.</p>
<p>In November, TAF attended (by zoom), the AOSSM 2024 Corporate Advisory Group meeting.</p>
<p>Also in November, the TAF logoed scrubs began active use by attendees at courses at the OLC.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>Foundation (TAF)</strong> engaged in numerous activities with its Collaboration Partners and others in 2023.</p>
<p><strong>TAF funded over $455,000 in grants and awards in 2023.</strong></p>
<p>In<strong> January 2023, TAF</strong> and <strong>OREF</strong> jointly hosted a cocktail party during the Orthopedics Today meeting in HI, during which Tom Sculco MD, current <strong>OREF</strong> President, and Lee Grossman, <strong>OREF</strong> CEO, graciously acknowledged the $100,000 <strong>Aircast Foundation </strong>grant that facilitated <strong>OREF</strong> in being the recipient of over $2 Million grant funds from <strong>MTEC</strong> and <strong>DoD</strong>.</p>
<p>In <strong>March 2023</strong>, at the <strong>AAOS</strong> annual meeting, and as part of the  trustees reception, Dr. Richard Kyle introduced <strong>TAF</strong> and <strong>OREF </strong>presented its’ prestigious Lifetime Service Award to<strong> TAF. </strong></p>
<p><strong>TAF </strong>committed $10K to<strong> OLC </strong>for new scrubs;  and met with and increased to $15k,  <strong>TAF</strong> future annual commitment to<strong> AAOS;  </strong></p>
<p><strong>And </strong>at the OREF Champions Breakfast,  Dr. Mark Miller, then <strong>AOSSM</strong> President, presented the 2023 multi-center grant award to Dr. Jeffrey Nepple for Optimizing Outcomes of Hip Surgery in Borderline  Acetabular Dysplasia, of which <strong>TAF</strong> funded $350k, collaboratively with <strong>OREF</strong> and <strong>AOSSM</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>TAF</strong> also <strong>with </strong>met with the <strong>AOSSM</strong> grant research committee to discuss this year’s <strong>TAF-AOSSM</strong> collaboration for awards including the Playmaker grants.</p>
<p><strong>TAF</strong> also met with the new officers of <strong>OTA</strong> to discuss this years grant collaboration.</p>
<p>In <strong>June 2023</strong>, <strong>TAF </strong>met with the <strong>AOSSM </strong>research committee to review the grant applications to be considered during the July 2023 Playmaker event.</p>
<p><strong>TAF</strong> also attended the <strong>Rush Anchor Cross Society</strong> celebration with other philanthropic donors.</p>
<p>In <strong>July 2023</strong>, we attended the <strong>AOSSM</strong> Annual Meeting in Washington DC. During the <strong>AOSSM</strong> board dinner, Jack McVicker (<strong>TAF</strong> President/Chairman) received the prestigious Circle of Honor Award.</p>
<p><strong>TAF</strong> engaged with the Research Committee and attended and participated in the Playmaker presentations, in which three $25,000 grants were awarded.  One to Henry Ellis MD et al, for Implementation of Neurocognitive Dual Task to Improve ACLR-RTP Assessment;  one to Kristen Nicholson PhD, for New Wearable Tech to Define Elbow Varus Torque for Safer RTP; and the third to Michael Yu PhD, for Imaging of Damaged Collagens in OA Cartilage.</p>
<p>In <strong>August 2023</strong>, <strong>Duke</strong> Medical’s <strong>Faegin Leadership Scholar</strong>  award, funded by TAF, was designated to:  Alex Bassil.</p>
<p>Also in August, Jack, Mary and Ron toured the new Physical Therapy Center at the <strong>Northshire </strong>campus of <strong>Southwest Vermont Medical Center</strong>, which center was funded by a $100k award in the name of <strong>TAF</strong> and in honor of <strong>Glenn W. Johnson</strong>,  <strong>TAF’</strong>s benefactor.</p>

<p>In <strong>September 2023</strong>, the <strong>OTA</strong> Research Committee designated Lily Mundy MD, et al, as the to be grantee of an $80k TAF funded award for A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Flap Coverage within 72 hours vs Standard of Care in Type IIIB Lower Extremity Open Fractures.</p>
<p>Also in September, <strong>TAF</strong> contributed another $15,000 to <strong>Rush</strong> for the continued study by Grant Garrigues MD and Robin Pourzil, PhD, for increasing data toward an NIH application relating to total shoulder arthroplasty.</p>
<p>In <strong>October 2023</strong>, <strong>OTA</strong> at its annual meeting, announced an award to <strong>TAF</strong> for it’s contribution to <strong>OTA</strong> studies.</p>
<p>In <strong>November 2023</strong>, <strong>TAF</strong> was again invited to participate in the <strong>AOSSM</strong> Corporate Advisory Group meeting.  This  enabled us to learn of <strong>AOSSM</strong> future plans and accomplishments.</p>
<p>Also in November, the <strong>TAF/OREF/MTEC/DoD</strong> grant recipients (<strong>TAF</strong> provided the $100k “seed” money) in the total amounts of $1.7 million, were awarded to Don Goss, MD et al for Objective Dynamic and 3D knee assessment Medical device to Improve Recover and Accelerate Return to Readiness of Members with Knee Pain; and to Daniel Clifton MD, et al, for Dynamic Gait-Synchronous Neuromuscular Stimulation Following ACL Reconstruction.</p>
<p><strong>In December 2023, TAF</strong> supported the 2024 <strong>Forum</strong> meeting with a $7500 speaker sponsorship  award.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The <strong>Foundation (TAF)</strong> engaged in numerous activities with its Collaboration Partners and others in 2022.</p>
<p><strong>TAF funded over $433,000 in grants and awards in 2022.</strong></p>
<p>In <strong>March 2022</strong>, at the <strong>AAOS</strong> annual meeting TAF met with the multi-center grant research committee to hear presentations about the $400,000 grant, funded by <strong>TAF, AAOS,</strong> <strong>OREF and AOSSM,</strong> to be awarded during the AOSSM  50<sup>th</sup> Anniversary meeting in July. The award  went to Beth Stubin Stein et al for JUPITOR 4.0, Risk Factors for Failure of Isolated MPFL Reconstruction. A second grant applicant will receive funding jointly from <strong>TAF, AOSSM and OREF</strong>.</p>
<p>We also engaged with our <strong>AAOS</strong>  contacts regarding use of the 2022, $10,000 contribution. At the same annual meeting we attended the <strong>OREF</strong> Trustees reception and the <strong>OREF</strong> Champions Breakfast.</p>
<p>In <strong>July 2022</strong>, we attended the <strong>AOSSM</strong> 50<sup>th</sup> Anniversary Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs. The multicenter grant to the Beth Stubin Stein group was announced. We engaged with the Research Committee and attended and participated in the Playmaker presentations, in which two $25,000 grants were awarded.  One to James E. Voos MD et al for Wearable Muscle 02 Sat Sensor to Guide Return to Play and one to Jeremy Burnham MD et al for Use of Amniotic Membrane Graft for Quadriceps Tendon Alograft Harvest Site..</p>
<p>TAF also provided seed money to AOSSM of $20,000 for each of three years for the Surgical Skills Assessment Program.</p>
<p>In <strong>September 2022</strong>, we attended the <strong>OTA</strong> Research Committee meeting  and participated in the selection of two awards:  $80,000 to Gerard Slobogean MD, MPH,  FRC for A Pilot Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Arthoplasty vs Internal Fixation Displaced Femoral Neck Fractures; and a Resident award of $20,000 to Ilexa Rae Flagstad MD for Percutaneous Sacral Screw Fixation for Operative Treatment of Geriatric Lateral 1 Pelvic Fractures.</p>
<p>TAF also provided $15,000 to the <strong>Duke-Feagin Leadership Scholars</strong> <strong>Award</strong>, which this year went to Jack Twomey-Kozak.  Also in September, TAF contributed another $10,000 to <strong>Rush</strong> for the continued study by Grant Garrigues MD and Robin Pourzil, PhD, for increasing data toward an NIH application relating to total shoulder arthroplasty.</p>
<p>In <strong>October 2022</strong>, we attended the <strong>OTA</strong> Annual Meeting, where TAF received a Donor Award; and  also we met with OTA to discuss future funding. TAF amended the OTA Collaboration Agreement to provide for four more years of TAF committed funding (2023-2026 of at least $50,000 per year).</p>
<p>In <strong>November 2022</strong>, we were invited to participate in the <strong>AOSSM</strong> Corporate Advisory Group meeting.  This  enabled us to learn of AOSSM future plans and accomplishments.</p>
<p>In <strong>December 2022</strong>, we met with <strong>AOSSM</strong> to discuss 2023 awards totaling $170,000, of which  the annual contribution will be used toward the second multicenter grant application considered at the March 2022 meeting.</p>
<p>And the $100,000 committed to <strong>OREF </strong>for 2023, will  be combined with $1,500,000 funded via the Department of Defense’s Military Operational Medicine Research Program (<strong>MOMRP</strong>), toward studies  to be undertaken jointly under contract with the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (<strong>MTEC</strong>) for “Solutions to Accelerate Return-to-Readiness following Musculoskeletal Injuries”.</p>
<p>We supported the <strong>Forum</strong> meeting early in the year with a $7500 Silver Sponsorship award.</p>
