AIEM's TAX ASSISTANCE COUNTER: FREE SERVICE FOR LOW-INCOME families and individuals
From March 2, 2026 to April 17, 2026, AIEM, in collaboration with the Tax Volunteer Program, is offering a tax return assistance service for low-income individuals.
The essentials — at a glance
Since 1986, Accueil aux immigrants de l’Est de Montréal (AIEM) has been supporting immigrants and their families at every stage of their settlement and integration in Quebec.
We offer free information, orientation and support services, tailored to your situation and eligibility.
Not sure where to start ? An individual meeting with an AIEM case worker is often the best place to begin in order to clarify your steps and establish an action plan.
We are present in the east end of Montreal, notably in Saint-Léonard, Anjou, Rivière-des-Prairies and Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Have you just arrived in Montreal ?
Arriving in a new city and a new country can be overwhelming. The steps are numerous, information is sometimes contradictory, and it is not always easy to know where to turn.
At AIEM, you can take the time to explain your situation, ask questions and understand your options. A team of case workers is here to listen to you, clarify your needs and guide you toward the right services, at the right time.
You are not alone in your process. Every journey is different — and every form of support is too.

First settlement steps (PDI)
Would you like to clearly understand the first steps to take when arriving in Montreal ?
The information session First settlement steps (PDI) is often the best starting point when arriving in Quebec.
It helps you understand, in a logical order, the essential steps to take upon arrival, the useful services and resources according to your situation, and the next steps to settle more confidently.
Individual meeting
Would you like to be supported by a case worker to clarify your situation and your next steps ?
The Individual meeting allows you to review your situation with an AIEM case worker.
During this meeting, you can explain your journey, ask questions and receive personalized support, with a clear action plan adapted to your needs.
Your settlement journey then becomes more fluid, structured and reassuring.
