Modifications on the Aasta Hansteen platform to enable production from the Irpa gas discovery.
Aibel was awarded the EPCIC contract by Equinor for modifications to the Aasta Hansteen platform to enable the Irpa tie-back.
The contract includes engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the topside modifications required to bring the Irpa field on stream. Aibel is also responsible for coordinating interfaces with other contractors involved in the project.
The work includes installation of a new module for MEG storage and injection, along with upgrades and modifications to several existing systems on the platform. These changes ensure the platform can safely receive and process production from the Irpa field.
The project builds on earlier work carried out by Aibel after being awarded the FEED study in 2021. The execution phase contract was awarded in 2022.
