Gallery Representation

Agora Gallery offers artists the opportunity to present their work to a broad range of national and international art lovers and collectors. We welcome portfolio submissions from talented contemporary artists, or their representatives, at all stages of their art careers.

Portfolios are reviewed by the gallery director whose extensive knowledge of the New York art market will benefit artists that would like to promote their work and advance their careers.

  • ARTIST PROFILE: One of our professional art writers will compose a press release that succinctly and elegantly introduces audiences to you and your work.
  • PR LISTING: Our experienced PR team will work to extensively promote you by reaching out to relevant organizations, publications, and online platforms to maximize exposure for you, your artwork, and your exhibition with Agora Gallery.
  • ONLINE PROMOTION: You will receive a personalized artist page on ARTmine.com and Agora-Gallery.com.
  • SOCIAL MEDIA: Social media is an important component to the promotion of artwork these days and Agora Gallery is proud to have a very active presence on social media.

Gallery Exhibitions

How many artworks can I exhibit?

The number of pieces depends on the wall size that you have and will be selected in order to achieve the best possible presentation, aesthetically and conceptually.

Is it possible to renew at the end of the exhibition period?

Yes. We offer a substantial discount to artists who wish to renew their agreement.

Will I have a group show or a solo show? AND What is the duration of the exhibition?

All our exhibition options offer a collective show. The duration of the exhibition is 3 weeks. In case you’re specifically interested in a solo exhibition, our director will discuss the costs during the meeting depending on your goals and vision for the show.

Will the exhibitions take place only in your Chelsea gallery during all the duration of the contract?

The exhibition will take place in our gallery. Also, during the term of agreement your art will be promoted through ARTmine, our social media and the Agora Gallery website as well.

Can I choose the exhibition dates?

You can discuss your preferred exhibition dates with our director during the meeting.

Are the artworks insured during the exhibition?

Your work will be covered by our fine arts insurance policy while it is displayed in our gallery.

Shipping and Framing

How long can you have the artwork in your gallery?

Once the exhibition ends, we will reach out to the artists so we can ship back any unsold artwork.

Can I send my artworks rolled in a tube and can you stretch/frame the artworks locally?

Yes, we can stretch or frame the works for you locally and give you a quote for the costs.

Do I have to take care of customs when sending my work?

We can help with the process, but you are responsible for your shipping and shipping-related arrangements and costs, including customs.

Sales

What is the commission structure?

The commission structure on the sale of art is 70% for the artist and 30% for the gallery. Sales occur at our exhibitions, through ongoing marketing, and on our online marketplace, www.ARTmine.com.

Can you guarantee that you will sell my artwork?

We promise that we will do everything that is outlined in the Agreement; however, we cannot and will not guarantee that your artwork will sell. 

Can Agora Gallery assist me with pricing my artwork?

Yes, pricing assistance is exclusively available to our artists. We will recommend the price of your artwork based on your CV, our experience and the list/selling price of similar work by other artists.

Portfolio Submission

We welcome artists to submit their portfolios for review by our director. Note that there is a $50 administrative processing payment to have your portfolio reviewed, which will be credited toward the representation fee.
