I have tried pads tampons menstrual cups but this is the first menstrual disc that I’ve had the chance to use. I have had this Hey Hera for two menstrual cycles now and I will say that the first month the first few days of my menstrual it was a learning curve on getting it in the right position feeling comfortable with using it but the second month that I use this menstrual there’s so much is no irritation I really appreciate that the instruction manual came with illustrations it was everything was worded really nicely and easy to understand if you are looking for a new sustainable way to conquer your menstrual cycle I definitely recommend giving this menstrual disc to try Hey Hera is well worth it packaging is nice it also comes with a very beautiful case to keep your menstrual disc in as well as a collapsible cup that you are able to clean it. This menstrual this cast really changed my experience with my menstrual cycle creates less stress And is extremely cost-effective with proper care you can reuse this desk for 10 years we worth the investment

    A good bit pricier than other menstrual discs, but I love the shape and design. The oval shape allows you to reliably take it out easily using the front notch because it doesn’t shift inside, and I’ve had no issues with unintentional auto dumping outside of relaxing over the toilet. The small size was perfect for me since I’m petite, and it holds quite a lot. I have a fairly average flow and usually use the disc alongside period underwear in case of overflow, but being able to autodump is so useful on heavier days compared to the menstrual cup I’ve used before.

    Comes with a decorative case and a collapsible silicone cup. The case is useless so I just tossed it. The collapsible cup is useful for sanitizing. Would be better if the price was lowered and it excluded frivolous accessories.

Packaging and instructions: 5/5 – The box and everything that comes in it is really nice and well thought out. I would consider this a good gift for a daughter or very close friend who is a beginner on these items. The inclusion of the sterilizer cup at this price point is awesome, and a game-changer if you're used to standing over the stove doing it manually. The instructions are really clear and helpful for beginners.
    Comfort: 5/5 – The device itself is one of the most comfortable I've experienced when in use; I was unaware of it entirely once it was seated correctly, and experienced no leaks or discomfort.
    Removal: 3/5 – I'm not a beginner, but removal was a bit of a hassle compared to some other brands that have loops or tails to help you grab it, but that's probably why it was so comfortable when inserted. I'd hesitate to attempt this in a public restroom, honestly, but I usually time it so that's not a concern.
    Insertion: 4/5 – The insertion was pretty smooth, with the only confusion being around front and back, which I'm not sure matter that much, honestly.
    Overall, I will keep this item in my supply as a solid alternative to others I've got, and consider it as a gift option or recommendation for friends who are looking to get away from costly, environmentally unsustainable period products, after giving them a frank warning about the learning curve in general, and on removing this one in particular.

    I was really excited to try this disc because I like the idea of a removal notch, but have only tried them on round discs that rotate inside me. So I liked how this disc was oval (to lessen potential rotation) and had three notches. Can't say how well this disc works because I never tried it. Here's why:
    1. The silicone used is really hard. Not firm, but hard. Honestly, it feels more like plastic to me than silicone. It makes a crinkly noise when you fold it and I feel as though it even leaves slight stress marks at the fold points. I kept folding this to see how I would insert and honestly did not want to put myself through the potential trauma of it.
    2. So my issue is that round notched discs turn inside me and I cannot find the notch again. This one has 3 notches, but I'm a little confused as to the placement of them. Due to the ergonomic shape, I can't imagine this would rotate much unless sizing is a big issue. So why not put the two extra notches at 10:00 and 2:00 (if the first notch is at 12:00)? Instead, the notches are placed at 12:00, 4:00, and 8:00.
    3. I really wish this came with just the disc. I do not need the whole kit.
    4. As others have pointed out, the storage case (while cute) seems impractical. All the literature says that reusable discs and cups should be stored in something breathable. This case does not seem breathable. Also, for those thinking, well, you can just keep it in the cloth bag and not in the hard case: the cloth bag is physically attached to the hard case.

    Update: I’ve been using the product for several months now, and figured an update would be helpful. Over time, as I (and my body) have used this product, I’ve definitely gotten better at it. I can rice it more easily, with less mess. I also have a little less trouble with leakage but it’s still not something I’d use out in public all day. However,y main issue with it these days is the little embossed rainbows and what not. I started to notice some discoloration around these areas. Which likely means they’re not coming totally clean and are increasing the chance of bacteria growth. These little things are cosmetic and unnecessary, no reason to add extra crevices for bacteria to grow just for cosmetic reasons. The product would be improved by removing the little shapes.

    In the last year I have been trying to make the switch to reusable products due to old plumbing and trying to be less wasteful. I’ve tried several but have run into some issues due to the fact that I have an iud and they caused uncomfortable suction on my cervix. Unpleasant. So I decided to go with the mini, hoping it would help with these issues. There are some upsides and some down sides for this thing. It came very well-packaged. Honestly to the point that it kind of seemed excessive. But still nice. Anyway. The material is softer than some discs/cups I’ve tried but firmer than some others. It works quite well for me. It’s easy enough to get into place. It is very comfortable, definitely more so than tampons or any other cup/disc I’ve tried. I can’t even feel it once it’s it. Because I got the mini, I definitely don’t get 12 hours for my heavy flow days but I don’t mind that much. It’s very secure in there but I’ve definitely had some mild leakage. I don’t really know that I’d trust it enough to rely on it 100% If I was out of the house running errands all day or whatever. The biggest issue for me, with this product is the removal. It is hard to get a hold on it well enough to remove. I always end up with a gigantic mess. Fine in the house, problematic in a public restroom. It’s easy enough to get clean with soap and lots of water. So with all that, this is useful for me but not a 100% replacement for tampons. I’ll probably use it while I’m home and save tampons for when I might need to change it out in public bathrooms. 4-4.5 stars from me.
