How we define a producer
Producing members are individual producers actively engaged in the development, financing, or production of film, television, or media content. This category is intended for independent producers operating in an individual capacity, rather than as institutional production entities or studios.
Do you qualify as a producer?
Applicants must meet at least one of the following pathways to qualify for AFCI Producing Membership.
Pathway 1: Feature Film / Scripted Producers
Intended for independent film and television producers and producing executives working in narrative or scripted content.
Acceptable verification (any one):
IMDb page listing producer or executive producer credits
A completed or released feature film or scripted series credit within the past five years
A project that premiered at a recognized film festival or was released by a distributor or platform
Pathway 2: Commercial, Reality, or Unscripted Producers
Intended for producers working in commercials, branded content, reality, or unscripted formats who are actively producing professional work.
Acceptable verification (any one):
Production company website or portfolio listing producer credits
LinkedIn profile showing a producer role with recognizable brands, networks, agencies, or platforms
Reel or portfolio site demonstrating produced work
Network, streamer, or agency affiliation in a producing capacity
Pathway 3: Active Development Producers
Intended for producers actively developing or packaging projects that may not yet be released.
Acceptable verification (any one):
Representation by an agent, manager, or entertainment attorney
An optioned, commissioned, or financed project with a recognized entity
Participation in a recognized lab, fellowship, market, or development program within the past three years
A brief written description of current projects, with a verifiable reference if needed

AFCI will verify that your credits are valid.

Upon payment, the membership process will begin.

APPROVAL
AFCI will award you with a certificate and announce your membership.

INDUCTION
Add your profile to our Global Directory.
MEMBERSHIP FEES
Upon review and approval of your application, an invoice will be sent to you. The invoice will provide instructions for AFCI’s preferred payment methods, including credit card, wire transfer or check payments.
