Rootbound is about anchoring yourself.

When a formerly prosperous city's government cuts certain deals to become completely reliant on one food source, it collapses pretty easily.

The residents realized this metropolis couldn't feed them anymore, and the city turned vacant and dead. Now it's your job to bring it back to life.

You need to build more than just homes and farms. To maintain your ecological footprint and stay a green metropolis, you need to build wildlife reserves throughout your city to preserve the biodiversity keeping the nature of your city alive!
