absolution and all the threats i take,

Listens: the friends that i evade

in stillness wait.

went to the public market on saturday as usual. but for whatever reason we obtained a lot of good finds, even better than usual. last week we didn't get up early enough and when we arrived and found our tomato guy he informed us he'd already sold out of his heirloom tomatoes. we were crushed of course, and resolved to come back this week early enough. so we did. and uh, he wound up giving us everything he had left for four bucks.

we also managed to get a few pounds of coldcuts from the guy we're loyal to (justin can vouch for his meats and cheeses; they make a phenomenal sandwich with the portuguese rolls :), 17 ears of corn for 2 dollars (we're going to make more of the cook's illustrated corn fritters), purple peppers (pretty), a bunch of lemons, a big bushel of pears from the people my mom likes so much, green tomatoes to make more fried green ones, home grown green beans (maybe to make southern style green beans with)...the photos aren't everything we bought, but a cross section. and everything together was 20 dollars. mm.

the only three things we'll be without this week are the greens j. loved so much from the hydroponic farmers, fresh clams from the lobster trap family, and the danishes from the bakers in the enclave section of the market. oh, and the potato pie the downtown church ladies make. la.
now let's get redundant! --if you like: market 1, market 2, market 3, market 4, market 5, market 6, market 7.

more random photos now, as this is a sort of summer photo trash receptacle maybe.
