absolution "what do i get" (the buzzcocks)

Listens: why is it fall/i feel so cold

good things:
.the beginning of the cure's "disintegration," and i had almost forgotten
.focaccia from that one italian shop in the strip, because it is actually SPICY. yum.
.the fall, if we can survive it. wistful is the word everyone chooses...
."maps" (the yeah yeah yeahs)
.my korean recitation. and the instructor for it. aaaah. !
.hair that turns red on its own when the seasons change. no need for a box of color, ugh
.hood this time of year
.remembering a. fondly, with none of the bitterness. can i do this, now? seems so.
.late 80s-early 90s "alt" pop from the radio. the lemonheads, the posies, madder rose, lush, the sugarcubes, the dambuilders, aaaall of that glimmery junk
.beaucoup de chansons françaises
.that poem "dear derrida," for what's wrapped in the last line (and via throughout if you catch the drift...). how it brings up that piece for which i have such fondness--the bit also thread through the gadamer tribute from last year, from that uchicago website. and also part of why i like reading journals such as silvergirl's--that element you can find in some people's expression, of connecting personal trauma and crashing clanging daily events with the theories you're learning at the time in which they take place. i hope secretly most of the time that more people do it than i seem to notice... "oh, i discovered debord right when i was breaking, clawing at my skin's surface, or that's when my best friend started to destroy himself, or that's the fall i thought i was in love," or. mundane bits but memorable too. i love that kids might be able to balance the theory but no one talks about how it inks into their big confusing mess of a personal life, except sometimes, sometimes. there were a few harper's pieces last summer sort of like this as i recall. i mean. ..."WE LAUGH EASILY" etc.
.singing with you in quiet.
.home, family. what i miss.
.kind strangers. thank you.
